Besides, I think it oozes sophistication and class. And it brings out that attention ho :D

Hell of a hat, Hal. I used to wear one just like that when I was delivering pizza. I'd stick a quart bag of ice up in it during the summer (didn't have AC in the car). Got married in a hat like that. Then I got a dog, and he ate it, and the one I got to replace it.

These days, I'm wearing one very much like kramus's, but with the brim rolled and shaped a bit to something between a tricorn and a stetson.

I don't get to wear hats. I have massive amounts of curly hair but this is a great thread!

I do not own a hat or ever wear one. Closest thing I have to a hat is a full faceshield riding helmet.
Some heads are just made for hats. Mine is not one of them.And most ladies' hats I have tried on were too small :(

Fashion is cyclical. Something going out of style doesn't necessarily mean that it shouldn't or can't be worn. Some people prefer to do what they want, rather than let the opinions of the masses dictate what they can or can't do.

Oh, I'm not upset. I thought the bit about 'my feelings may have been hurt' made that clear, since the implication is that my feelings aren't hurt. Despite the fact that I'm reasonably sure MrSelfDestruct meant it exactly as harshly as it seems to read, I was simply observing that I don't particularly care if he or anyone else thinks my hat makes me look like a 'dork.' While I didn't outright state it, I think it'd be logical to conclude that anyone else who wears a fedora (or a top hat or any other type of hat other than a ball cap) is similarly unaffected. You'd have to be; people who spend a lot of time worrying about the opinions of others don't generally buy hats or clothes that are outside mainstream fashion.

As to getting laid, women like men with confidence. Men who wear hats like those depicted here generally are confident. I get very positive responses regarding my fedora.

when i was in uni and just out school i always wore a ball cap, now i rarely if ever wear one. only when i am too lazy to shower before going out for breakfast to a greasy spoon on a sunday.
