I've been wondering what reversing and altering the question just a bit might tell us.

How many men here have had to pay a high price (not counting prostitution or someone you literally had to pay) for the chance to have sex with a particular woman? What were you willing to do to "earn" it?

Actually, no. Never. Wouldn't ever think of it. I never put that much effort into it as far as scheming to get sex. I do know guys who did, where sex was the goal and they would do/spend whatever it took. I was more laid back about it. If it happens, it happens.

This is hard to answer. Did she mack the knife because I forked over for dinner and a play, or was that just foreplay? I'll readily admit that I had and have no problem paying a decent amount for a date, but because I want to spoil the lucky lady not because I want to sleep with her. I mean if I'm seeing someone, there's a pretty decent chance that the woman has already made up her mind about doing the dew, so what happens on the date is either good or bad icing on the cake.

Usually costs nothing more then a dinner. I did buy some tickets to a Garth Brooks concert once, but it was worth it.

That was really refreshing to hear. There are still a handful of men that think like you. They're difficult to weed out though.

BTW, we're actually a lot more common today than we were 10, 30, or even 50 years ago. Speaking to my uncle and when I used to speak to my grandfather, women were commonly more like glorified dishwashers once upon a time, even by good men. They simply didn't know any better. I count myself fortunate that I was able to get the education to know better.

Paying is relative I guess. Honestly every woman I've slept with has put out before any substantial gifts were given, every single one. So you could say that perhaps they were trying to 'invest' but I don't think thats the case. My wife had to put up with 10 years of relative poverty while I was in school and money was never her motivation, she could have had far more 'sure things' while waiting a decade for me to get going if that were the case.

Perhaps its because I truly treated women as an equal partnership in a relationship as in they equally want to get laid and equally want to be with me, and if they want me to like them for who they are then they better like me for who I am and not what I can give them.

I have damn close to a perfect marriage, I feel sorry for you guys who have had crappy luck with women in that regard.

Hard to answer. I've never spent more than $50CND on a date. I used to have a policy that the most I'd spend is a few bucks for coffee in order to get to know a girl and wouldn't invest anymore until after I've slept with her.

However I've gone to great lengths in order to improve myself and learn about women for the sake of getting them into my bed. The time, energy and money invested into this part of my life is staggering to say the least. In the end it was worth it though. It made me a better person and gave me many unforgettable experiences.

As Will had brought up, I think that men have sort of reevolved. (cough) I'm about half his age. I've never known men within 10 years of my age who are that way, but I have dated a couple of men in their late 50s or so that really know how to make a woman feel desired!

Yah there is having an adventure together with money and there is trying to buy love. The later never works. I knew a guy who bought his girlfriend a 3k ring as an anniversary gift. It was such a boring way to spend money. All it created was resentment in the end.

Ktspktsp asked me out on one lunch date before we officially hooked up (less than a week later), and we split that lunch bill. So it can be said that he never spent a dime trying to "woo" me...
