gotta love "Spooooooooooon!"
I was going to say "mellifluous" but it's been mentioned already. Even so, you need to hear James Earl Jones say it.
"grok" is a long-time favorite.

tonight, it is: ricockulous

Stiltzkin 07-21-2003 09:17 PM

Grok... as in "grokking in fulless"? Valentine Michael Smith? It'd be nice if you would be so kind as to state the origins of made up words from now on

My favorite word is "eh". It has a multitude of uses. You can use it with a question mark to get a person's opinion (or to look like you actually care about their opinion). You can use it as a statement to follow a questionable statement by the other person.

And no, I'm not Canadian.

I think the word "eloquent" is great.

I also like flibbertigibbet (a frivolous or flighty person) because I can't believe it's a real word and funambulist(tight rope walker) because I can't imagine it comming up in any real converstion.

skysooner 08-15-2003 11:05 AM

Plethora. This mainly comes from the movie "Three Amigos". There were only two parts of that movie I liked (the plethora scene and the singing bush). The bastards cut the singing bush scene from the movie for some reason. Now you don't see it at all anymore.

Fifteen Short 08-15-2003 11:25 AM

I have to say faggot, and I wish all the time it wasnt linked with such a negative conetation, because its such a good insult.

I also do express my belief that eloquent is one of the greatest words because it describes itself, and perfectly.

pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis

pneu•mo•no•ul•tra•mi•cro•scop•ic•sil•i•co•vol•ca•no•co•ni•o•sis

Pronunciation: (nOO'mu-nO-ul"tru-mI"kru-skop"ik-sil'i-kO"vol-kA"nO-kO"nE-O'sis, nyOO'-), [key]
—n.
an obscure term ostensibly referring to a lung disease caused by silica dust, sometimes cited as one of the longest words in the English language.

and this is my fave.. its so random

and actually.. I dont think its in normal dictionaries.. you'd have to look in a medical one I think. I remember looking it up in my Bio class a few years ago.

One that I can't use regularly but I discovered in highschool chemistry class.
Methocloroisothiazolinone - It's a preservative in most shampoos and even conditioners and many other cleaning products.

A made up word that we used when talking to our cat - Monsierita.
Grandma spoke some French and my Mom spoke Spanish so together they came up with that one. IWierd but I like how it rolls off your tongue.
