Help with TFP Donations

This may be a dumb idea, it wouldn't be the first, but I thought I'd throw it out there and see if it would fly. I've been doing paid surveys for over a year, ball park figure from last year, I made about $500. I tried several till I found one thats legit and will send the checks right to your home. Surveys vary in length from 10 to 45 minutes and pay anywhere from a $1 to $15 or more. This wouldn't help in the short term, because it can take 4 to 6 weeks for the money to go into your account, then another week to get the check. In the long term though, if 100 members donated $10 per month from paid surveys, that would be....well you can multiply I'm sure.

I just use my yahoo Email addy, and made a separate folder for all the Emails from them, but its easy to set up. Just register and you're off. At first I didn't get that many paid surveys, there are non-paid ones too, but now I get a bunch and don't have time to do them all. You wont qualify for them all, but there are ways to 'work' the system.

Next check I get, I'll donate to TFP. Heres the site, its for real.

It seems like a very interesting idea to me. Right now, I feel guilty because I can't send much to TFP. but this money would only be for TFP and not alloted for food and such. I will definitely check it out.

You would have to put the check into your bank, of course, then donate. You wouldnt have to donate all of it, unless you wanted to. I've recieved $5 checks and $50 ones, so the choice is yours. You have to have at least $5 in your account before you can request a check.

TFP is never going to lay claim on where your dollars come from.

In the past, members have suggested unconventional ways to bring non budget money our way - from throwing coins in a jar, to auctioning off homemade wooden goods and sending the proceeds our way.

Above all ... every cent counts. Hell just "charge" yourself a penny every time you log on ... and at the end of the month count the pennies :D

but you get the point - theres no good or bad way to donate.

Amonkie has it exactly right. Even if it's only a few dollars, that's a few dollars less that come out of Hal's pocket. Now imagine if all of the active members donated even a few dollars how much less that would cost Hal.

I figured it was about time to donate again, so away I went, down to the docks around 2:30am on a tuesday, wearing a lepard print thong, a bow-tie, and a Smile. I just happened to have caught the shift change for the the dockworkers local #2234.

Needless to say, TFP should be expecting a pretty hefty donation if you know what I mean.

It would have been more, but sometimes... ya just can't charge...

(there were a lot of lady dockworkers...WHAT?)

Well, not a total dumb idea then.......whether its paid surveys, coins in a jar, or whoring at the docks, what ever works for you! :)

This is a good idea, I think I will donate part of the proceeds from this also.

DaveOrion 09-06-2007 08:25 AM

woohog, is that really you??? WhereTF have you been???

Consider part of my donation due to paid surveys. When do I get the donor tag?

Or do I need to go sell more blood and haiku?

Ok, Lucy splain somethings very carefully.

Like how many hours to earn say $100, how do you find the ones that pay and pay and the most, what are the pitfalls?
How do you, "there are ways to 'work' the system."

I'm willin' to put in some time and help the cause but any help from a seasoned pro would be greatly appreciated!

I also tried to donate, but was unable to.......maybe I should have avoided that 4-way hit of blotter, or I could have avoided channeling Bob Dylan, or possibly my mind was astral projected into another dimension by Dylan & the blotter.....who knows....:oogle:

Theres no way to know exactly how many hours will earn you X amount of $$$. It all depends on how fast you read, your comprehension level, & how much time you're willing to put into it. If you have little or no patience &/or want instant gratification, this probably ain't for you.

The surveys that pay will be marked with the amount & average time it takes to complete them. As far as working the system, I'm sure you can figure that out once you get going. I would never advocate lying, but if you were to stretch the truth a bit, what the hell (totally unchristian-like huh???). :)

If you think you can go along & check the boxes randomly, you'd be wrong, for the most part.......they occasionally throw in a question to see if you're actually reading them.....like...check box C....:)
