Program to plan agenda?

I need a program to plan on the things I need to do during the day. Only freeware, please. I considered asking the Tech board but figured I'd get replies from more ordinary users this way. Plus this board moves faster.

you need to be a bit more descriptive of what you require your need for planning. does it need to be something connected to the internet? do you need it to eventually sync to a handheld device or telephone?

you can use google.com they have a free calendar system, so does AOL, Yahoo, and MSN.

Mac or PC? Mac has iCal, which operates with alarms even when the program is not running. I'm told Vista created a clone of iCal.

PC and offline, doesn't need to connect to any device

I'm guessing XP, then.

www.download.com, just search for "calendar".

That Palm desktop suite is ok, and it's free whether you use a Palm (handheld) or not.

It runs on the PC. Probably not so good for alarms though.

This is pretty much a calendar app. ie good for meetings and simple todo lists. Myself - I like todo tools that handle indentation. Bonsai is an example. So I can enter a task then add subtasks later. There's a bunch of these available on the web also.

There's a third category of tools that allows you to add pics and so on. This is more a "scapbook" than anything else.

that is a great idea! especially since once you've gotten in the habit of putting things into a calendar, you want that calendar to be nearby you so that you can be reminded of things, and add things when you aren't near your calendar. Which means that eventually you may find that you need a PDA. They are quite inexpensive now as well I believe you can even get used/refurb Palm III for as low as $26.00.

I'd rather keep it to my computer. I have too many electronic devices as it is. I checked out some of those suggested but haven't found anything I like. Download.com doesn't have a good section for it so I just searched "calendar" and nothing that is what I want. I just want a simple program. Those listed are too much. I dunno about the Palm desktop suite. What does it include?

Cynthetiq 06-26-2007 11:40 AM

the basics:

calendar, contacts, tasks, notepad

what electronic devices do you carry with you now? come can display your calendar already, just sync it up with what your desktop has.

just curious how you would handle new events as they come up until you get to your computer to input them?

Check out Lifehacker, which is a website dedicated to "enhancing productivity" and has links to many software applications, free/share/payware, Mac, Linux, Windows, web-based, etc.
