In Need of Some Positive Karma

My family has been hit pretty hard by cancer this last year or so. First, my cousin passed away due to melanoma. By the way, he was in his 30's and a orthopedic surgeon. Then my uncle found out he had melanoma and is now in Stage IV which has rendered him bedridden and terminal. His lungs are filled with cancer. It would be a miracle if he lasted even a couple more months. Now, my mother is in the hospital due to complications of Crohn's Disease (a non-cancer related intestinal inflammatory disorder she has fought all her life). This is by no means the first time she's been in hospital for this, but we all concerned over a CT scan she received yesterday. They found out that she has an ovarian cyst. There's a good chance it's nothing, but who knows. My mother is only 44 and I have a 5 year old sister, so while trying to be optimistic, I am very concerned.

I would be eternally grateful if some of you folks prayed/medidated/thought/etc about my mother and my uncle, just for a split second, to see if we can spread some positive karma.

Also, as cancer has affected me greatly the last year, I encourage all of you to learn about the disease....especially melanoma, which is the most devastating of the skin cancers. How many of you have had one blistering sunburn when they were growing up? That doubles your risk of melanoma. For god sakes, wear sunscreen (SPF 30 or greater) often. My cousin was a doctor and he had no clue he had melanoma until it was already Stage III. The melanoma was initially in a spot that was hard to get at (under his hair I believe), and he missed it.

At any rate, thanks for reading this and take it easy.

goddfather40, I'm so very sorry to hear of your losses! It's shocking how devistating skin cancer can be, I have several friends dealing with that right now.

Whatever positive karma I may possess is sent to you and yours right now. *hugs*

karma isn't helping me lately, so i'll pass on whatever I have to you - maybe it'll do some good there... :)

And a few prayers as well... good luck and blessings to your family... and hope they get some good news....
