Sexkey
User needs to add more info..
Hello Friends, What do you think about sexkey? Is it safe? Did you end up getting spammed? I've never had to use sexkey - but a website I want to view requires it. Thanks From what I understand sex key is a third party website that determines that you are an adult of age. A lot of adult websites use their service. You can't get into their site until you have joined sex key. But as I said, I don't want to spam my email. Plus they require a lot of private information. Hopefully in the family of TFP somebody has already used this and can put my fears aside. Sorry for being so vague. Last edited by puddlesmilo; 06-12-2006 at 01:50 PM.. pay... for... porn?
what is this, 1997? I'd imagine if it's a common thing among many websites it's reliable, but I personally don't know. There's this wonderful invention called Bittorrent that solves all that nasty "paying for porn" issues.

Sage there's no cost involved.
Sex key could be used on TFP. I Goggled sex key and tons of sites use their service. Somehow when used it keeps children from entering the site. Perhaps it just gives the site owners a legal front in the event of being sued by Ma and Pa. I don't really want to use a floating pass key. I want my own. But before I submit my information I want to make sure that it doesn't get used incorrectly - either now or eventually down the road. All I need is one member to tell me his experience. |

From what I have been able to gather, there is a risk of unsolicited email, but not from the sexkey itself....the risk comes from the sites you use it for. If indeed you decide it is something you need....use a solid firewall after instillation, and set the guard to a reasonable level.
Just remember not every site is monitored for member protection like this one, and act accordingly.

I had it. It sucked a whole lot. Yes there are tons and tons of sites. With very little content, lots of popups, spyware, and a whole lot of junk mail. It's "free" in the sense that you don't have to pay a subscription fee, but it's not "free" in the sense that they automatically sign you up for a trial offer to another paysite that charges about $40/month. You have a three day trial period, and you can cancel at any time. I cancelled on the first day, the request took a few days, and I got billed for it. The site you want to see, I will almost guarantee that the content you see in the preview page is not far from being all that's there. This was my experience, YMMV.
