Tired of waiting!
Ok, I'm about ready to go stark raving mad with the waiting... I had my interviews for a PhD program in Molecular Virology last weekend at Case Western Reserve University and I know that the PI's met on Tuesday to seal our fates. The problem is I still haven't recieved an e-mail, so I'm permanently tied to my house waiting for yahoo messenger to make that stupid noise telling me I have e-mail. Of course I'm getting an unusually large number of e-mails from friends and stuff, so I'm running (much to my hungry 8mo old's dismay) back and forth from the kitchen constantly to see who it was.
So how many of you have been in this situation, waiting unexpectedly long to find out what someone else has chosen as your future (I didn't apply to any other schools becuase my wife is in the middle of her medical residency and were not budging untill she's done). Cheer me up PLEASE! |
I think the closest I came to that situation was when I graduated college and was waiting to hear from a prospective employer in California to see if they were going to hire me or not. I knew they were interviewing more candidates two weeks after my interview, and I couldn't wait to see if I would be off to Cali to start a new life or stuck in Colorado doing the same old. Five weeks after my interview I finally called back since I hadn't heard a peep, and found out I didn't get it. Hopefully your news will be better.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...n/cheerup2.jpg I'm sure that this isn't your last shot at the program... just a bit of a bump in the road... you'll get there if it's what you really want... :D |
Don't let this set-back get you down, keep trying to get what you want! If not at this school, at this time, maybe at a different school, or this school at a different time!
The main mistake people make is giving up to early! |
(( big hug ))
and a kiss :icare: apply again or find another program that suits you just as well... sweetpea |
Thanks for the support guys, I'm working on last minute applications to another school in the area I just learned about. I'm also looking for a job in the bio world if that doesn't work out. The biggest problem I'm running into is that it seems I can get a better job using my associates in Chemistry than my Bachelors in Biology!!! How wrong is that! I'm also going to take the DAT so I can apply to dental schools as a final backup.
