Springtime for TFP in Toronto!! **May 13th**
Hey fellow Toronto TFP'ers:
I'll be in the area in the first two weeks of May (as I pass through taking my now ex-gf's furniture to Owen Sound), so I was hoping to do a repeat of our Christmas get together. I thought I would throw this out now, so we could get a date hashed out, and then I could plan my moving activities around it. I'm driving up from Newfoundland around May 1st to the 4th, so I'm thinking that the second weekend (May 13-14) might be better, so that I can use the first week to travel in and the first weekend and the next week to sort out our stuff in storage, and move stuff between Owen Sound and Kingston (my new home), but I want to go for maximum people/fun/photos/beer/etc. on this one, so I can deal on the weekends. I've got to report to my ship sometime around the 15th (I was purposefully vague on the date with my company, so i could have some leeway to meet up with my i-net buddies) If this meetup ends up anything like the Christmas one (still at the table 5 hours later!) maybe we should plan our event(s) accordingly.

That weekend is an excellent one for me.
Count me in. FYI: I will be out of town from May 19th - May 29th.

I should be able to make it. I'm going to see what others say first, then I'll look into booking that weekend off work.

Anytime that weekend is good for me.
Saturday the 13th in the evening is good. Dora Keogh was really loud (damn Science Centre types) so maybe we should choose another venue. Somewhere with good beer but a little less boistrous. We could also opt for a Sunday brunch instead...

I just heard from the officer that I will be relieving on the Algowood, and she is in no hurry to leave in May, so that weekend is now totally open for me.
This is not a suggestion of a place to meet, but a nice picture of my new floating home for the rest of the year:

JJ and I are thinking about coming. I would love to meet the Toronto crowd and we might be up for a mini-vacation at that time. We'll know more closer to the date regarding money and the such. I'll keep you all updated.

If Shesus and JJ are going to be there, I'll show up no matter who I have to kill. Who knows when those two hoopy froods will be up this way again?

Well I'm hoping that if JJ and Shesus can make it, SecretMethod70 and Onodrim can hitch a ride. I'll have to start saving for a room at the Chelsea if we are making a weekend out of it.

It saddens me terribly to say this. But I cannot come up to Toronto that weekend. It is Mother's Day. I didn't realize it when I said I might go. It will break my children's hearts if I am not with them. I hope you understand.

I guess we just need to decide what we're doing. I am available that evening (finish work at 6p.m.). What about 7p.m. Too early?
Does anyone want to go to Lone Star?

Since you're the person who started it, you gotta make some plans Lucifer
I'm up for pretty much anything. Out of towners might want to mention if they're coming, that way we can fit in sight seeing if that's what they want to do.

Well, as I explained to a few people, now that I'm back in Ontario, my internet connection is dial up, sketchy and intermittant. That weekend is open for me totally, so you Toronto people put your heads together and come up with a venue that involves some beer. I can stay in the city so let's have some fun.

OK, truth be told, I was waiting for Fresnelly to offer up a BBQ evening since, he's footloose and fancy free, however that doesn't appear to be happening. I'd be happy meeting at the place we met at Christmas, but if it's nice weather, a deck would be nice. I was thinking late Saturday afternoon, around 3-ish, thereby leaving the evening open to suggestions. Sunday brunch is at Pappas on the Danforth, that's my only definite plan for the weekend. Eggs Benedict to die for!

Yeah, I'm spending Saturday helping my wife and son get organized and out to door to the airport for around 5pm, so sadly, no BBQ.
As for the evening, how about Margueritas, Cervesas and Nachos at Hernando's Hideaway? It's right downtown on Front St. E by the photogenic Flatiron Building. I'm up of Eggs Benny on Sunday too. Just not too early.

Hernando's is great, so that gets my vote too. I'm free after 6p.m.

Hernando's on Saturday is starting to sound like a winner... But given Aberkok and Fresnelly's schedule, I'd say that 3pm isn't going to work.
6 or 7pm sounds better perhaps.
