Greatest heist of all times.

There's no "Tilted Crime" section, so this is the best place that I could find for this. Maybe it deserves to be in humor, but it's real, so....

Semi load of beer vanishes

The Associated Press

WEST BEND, Wis. -- The thieves could be having one heck of a beer bash. That's unless the law catches up with them.

A semi trailer loaded with Miller beer has disappeared from a trucking company in Washington County.

A load with nearly two-thousand cans and bottles of Genuine Draft, MGD and Miller Lite worth more than $25,000 has vanished from Millis Transfer in Richfield.

The beer was dropped off February 17th for delivery to a beer distributor in Menomonee Falls. During an inventory check later that day, the trailer was discovered missing.

The company spent the next few days determining whether one of their drivers had picked up the wrong load. But, that wasn't the case, so the company called the sheriff's department.

The trailer was found earlier this week at an Oak Creek trucking firm -- minus the beer.
Now I'm not sayin' that anyone on this board knows anything about it, but if they do, I hope that they'll share. Granted, it's crappy beer, but free beer is free beer.

C'mon you've all thought about it. The beer truck parked on the side of the road.... the side doors wide open.... the guy inside the store.. the engine running. A man can only resist so much temptation before they snap.

(yea this case is different.. but you get hte idea ) :icare:

Have they interviewed Homer J. yet?

How do you drink 2000 cans/bottles before it goes bad? That's like a lifetime supply of beer. You'd have to share, in which case.. somebody would probably rat you out. :(

Speak for yourself my friend, speak for yourself... :D

Personally, I'd invite all my friends over and tell them that we had to drink it before it went bad.

rainheart 02-24-2006 06:23 PM

Ew why Miller's

drewg 02-24-2006 06:44 PM

Hmm. If I were to drink 10 cans of beer each week, I would have drunk all 2000cans in 200 weeks, or around 4 years. A can of beer only lasts about a year though, so I would have to share with atleast 3 or more friends. Considering that maybe a third of it is Miller Lite, which is just alcohol water, I would only have about 1333 drinkable beers. So I could, if I wanted to keep low, only share it with as little as two trusted friends.

krwlz 02-26-2006 10:36 AM

I think I could get the beer down before it went bad. I could average more like 30 every week, which brings it down to a little over a year... with a few friends, there would be no problems, lol.

msh58 02-26-2006 07:25 PM

wow, i'd like one right now, wish they had called me.

carrot glace 02-27-2006 02:20 AM

HAD to be an inside job, if you think about it.

little_tippler 02-27-2006 05:13 AM

HAHA I thought I was going to read about the biggest heist ever that happened in England recently where they stole 50 million pounds...obviously this is far better. :p

link to CNN story on the biggest cash robbery in UK history

Charlatan 02-27-2006 07:05 AM

Tippler: I was going to say the same thing... the Kent robbery was huge and all over the media in London this weekend.

I kept having daydreams of finding that truck with the two garbage bags full of cash (over 2 million pounds I think). But I suppose, if it was 2000 beers I would be just as happy.

glasscutter43 02-27-2006 10:01 AM

hmmmmm.... 2,000 cans valued at $25,000.00 comes to $12.50 a can. Must have been cases not cans.

Well, at the rate of four a day during the week and 10 each on Friday and Saturday, you could drink it all in about 11 months... I don't know if beer will stay good for that long, but I think you could get away with throwing one party with around 300...

msh58 02-27-2006 11:27 AM

They still haven't called me. No invite i guess.

Poppinjay 02-27-2006 11:41 AM

Four a day? Ten a week?

Lightweights.

Ten a day, 7 days a week, done in 28 weeks.

Greatest hesit of all time? No way, it'll have to be 2 weeks before Xmas when I was 12, opened some of the presents and carefully put them back together including wrapping papers :D

Of course, nobody suspected...at least that I'm aware of ;)

cybersharp 02-27-2006 05:10 PM

....Well that is alot of.... fun ;)

msh58 02-27-2006 05:46 PM

i never found any of my christmas presents, i still don't know where my parents hid them, thats awesome you were that much of a detective. I found out santa wasn't real on the school bus, older kids just giving it to me bad.

back to the beer truck, why I haven't been called for that party and had to buy my own tonight when so much is out there waiting to expire, it ain't right i'm saying.

I'm giving myself another couple years at best. You have no idea how depressing that is. There's no reason at all I should be working right now, if that in fact equals 25 grand in 11 months (i'm too drunk to double check the numbers right now).

Hey, it could have been worse. At least they had the good sense not to get a Milwaukee's Best truck....
