The Face of Patriotism
I just came across this, it's in slideshow format so I'm not sure if I can post the pics directly. If anyone can it'd be much appreciated.
Truely sad and honorary pictures of a Native who served and died in the Marines. http://cfapp2.rockymountainnews.com/...undstrom&NUM=1 |
Sad, but that was a nice tribute to him.
Hate seeing Marines lying in coffins... |
Wow, that was tough to get through. I can't help but think about the other funerals that I've been to for other young folks and how tragic it always is to see a young life end far too soon.
The photographer and editor deserve high praise for the respectful way they put this piece together. |
That was very interesting to see; the way two 'styles' of funeral were brought together - the Native American funeral mixed with a miliary style funeral.

i agree, what a good blend of culture.
i honor his sacrifice. sweetpea |
It's always haunting to me when I see and read things like this. Whenever I get sad about death I look at a picture, taken by the Voyager 1 spacecraft about 4 BILLION miles from Earth.
It is a picture of Earth caught inside a beam of sunlight with nothing but black void in the background. It was the picture that Carl Sagan coined the phrase "pale blue dot" from. It makes me feel strangely good for some particular reason. http://www.planetary.org/html/news/a...s/earthpbd.jpg |
Wow. That was very moving, and had me choking back tears. Thanks for posting this, Seaver.

Nice. When the Marines take on a project, they do it right.
