Google has such a sense of humor

It also used to be possible to have Google direct you to swim across the Atlantic ocean, though I think they've since removed that one.
Google in general is full of these little Easter eggs. I have a hunch that there's many more still that people just haven't managed to find. |
I found it interesting today playing around with Google Maps.
They allow you to chart a walking route between Toronto and Kingston. They take you everywhere but the 401 highway, of course, but they suggest you give it the better part of two and a half days. As an aside, I'm entirely grateful for their TTC (public transit) integration. That's the stuff. Give them two addresses and a departure or arrival time, and bam! It even works between municipalities/systems. EDIT: I just tried a search for Los Angeles to Honolulu. Apparently they recommend driving through Seattle and then kayaking out the Salish Sea. |

Also: Thank you to whichever member of the staff fixed the title for me. |

In short : imagine that convenience, but not only is it in your pocket, it'll actively track where you are in your journey and update arrival and departure times accordingly. |

You've probably seen this one, but it cracks me up every time.
Go to the Google search page and type "find Chuck Norris" in the search field, then click 'I'm feelin' lucky'. |

Turns out it's not a google easter egg, just a somewhat clever person with money to waste. |

Japan to China, Walking Route...Step #193 Go down the hallway.

I don't know if it still does it, but it used to give you part of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air song when you googled directions for West Philadelphia to Bel-Air.
|
Also if you use google street view in Antarctica, the little google man icon turns into a little penguin! super cute :)
