The Walking Dead is probably one of the greatest comic books of the last decade,
so it was no surprise when AMC picked it up and decided to make a TV show out
of the '70s series. The Walking Dead follows the story of a group of that must band
together in order to survive a zombie apocalypse. Sure the idea itself sounds cliche
and anything George A. Romero has already created, but it’s so much more than that.
The Walking Dead focuses more about the entire aspect of survival, than the
zombies themselves. Sure they’re still a huge part of the comic and upcoming show,
but The Walking Dead focuses more on the human beings and their sanity as they
go through this new hell on earth.

Nah, we both probably have that touch of perfectionism trait, it's just I feel more at ease without small red liner notes of how, exactly, I was too slow (or depending, too quick) to the draw in submitting a post, sans all things in the order I ideally wanted it. The weapon appears to be a WW2-era M1 flamethrower. Not a space gun, but definitely gnarly.

I think I finally remember it. .. watching it, that is. Perhaps the episode in which Samson, for one reason or another, loses his secret-spy/baby-sitting responsiblities, and has a dreaming delusion of his boss, and I don't know where I'm going with this.

Took a while, but I found it. Watch it or not, it says the episode will expire in one week's time.

A friend of mine suggested one day that it would be cool to see the characters of Futurama as X-Men and so I drew him Fry as Cyclops. For some reason I couldn't just stop there...and what came of it was a pretty extensive illustration with some of the most obscure characters from both the X-Men and Futurama universes.

My paintings are created using acrylic paint, shellac and sandpaper and are made on wood panels and stretched canvases.

The subject matter in my work tends to deal with life, death and religion. I’ve been working in funeral homes for the last five years and I’ve become quite familiar with all three subjects. Through funerals we tend to celebrate not only someone dying but we also celebrate that persons life. Through religion we hope that our loved ones are in a better place, that they are not suffering anymore.

My inspiration comes from many different sources: The German Expressionists, stained glass windows, Halloween, Southern folk art, funeral homes, horror films, music, lowbrow/outsider art, Religious icons, etc.

I am always adding and subtracting ideas and colors to my work to make each painting have it’s own story. I like to think that each painting is in some way a good bye to somebody who passed away. A funeral portrait.
