I love sand animation. Wow, I wish America's got Talent had something this good this year.

they'd never let an act to go on for 8 minutes on American TV

Very true. I have a hard enough time focusing for 48 seconds, but to multiply that attention span by 10, well, it takes me clearing my slate, and I like to keep busy, even if I am watching TV. Television is more like the radio for me, and I only pay attention to it 8 seconds out of every 20 minutes.

Thanks for the video. Sand art inspires serenity in my childlike remembrances.

Anyone notice the song that started at 6:10?

Nothing Else Matters by Metallica
Woulda thought she would have chosen Enter Sandman :p

Punk.of.Ages 08-14-2009 12:13 PM

Actually, that was Nothing Else Matters, but yeah I noticed.
_______

It's amazing how she inspires so much emotion with her art...

Simply stunning was saying it best.

Bear Cub 08-14-2009 12:19 PM

Not only was that awesome, but she was smoking hot.

Two paws up.

ha, would have been funny even though Apoocalyptica's Enter Sandman isn't nearly as well orchestrated as Nothing Else Matters.

Strange Famous 08-14-2009 01:40 PM

One of the first sand art pieces that was shared all across the web many years ago:

blahblah454 08-14-2009 03:10 PM

That was amazing!

Derwood 08-14-2009 08:02 PM

Very interesting, have never heard of sand animation.

guy44 08-15-2009 08:29 AM

That was really cool. I've never heard of sand animation either. I'm not sure it's cry-worthy, but wow. And the artist was stunningly beautiful.

It is definitely cry worthy for the people there. She is depicting a story of how lives were affected during World War II. Over there, the war still provokes strong emotions in people. The older generations still remember suffering through the war, the younger generations continue to hear stories from their elders about the sacrifices of their family members.

In the end she writes "You are always near" and on the top, 1945.

Smoking hot indeed.
If her hair was a little lighter, she would look like my wife.
