Best. Commercials. Ever.

blktour 02-04-2009 10:50 AM

this is my best commercial that I have seen in a while:

the way he moves to the beat cracks me up. its like a "hip hop" beat and he seems out of place.

troit 02-05-2009 08:04 AM

"Her online profile says she's 5'11'' - yeah pounds maybe..."

Arc101 02-05-2009 02:50 PM

This is the best advert - but be warned it is NSFW:
elave - nothing to hide - (nudity) | Pinewood Design

I got a chuckle out of this. I caught by fluke as I was walking by the TV.

I very much enjoyed this ad when it made its run. Thanks for featuring it (I don't think it made too much of a nationwide syndication impact, though).

"Bad Day" (at the office - commercial for Toronto's Mix 99.9)

(oh, and in case it's not readily recognized, I think I'll make this my "commercial commons", and feature a few of the advertisements, both in print and those 30-second spots we see, right here.)

a few commercial spots for MARS, Inc. Candies

Snickers
(spot #9 is my personal favorite)

Skittles

Starburst

a few (new) commercial spots for Jimmy Dean Breakfast Delights

(I really enjoy them, not the product, which I have yet to sample, but the advertisements themselves. And in case you wanted to know, the actor that plays the lead, "Sun", is 'Haynes Brooke'.)

Leto 05-04-2010 11:00 AM

I always liked this classic. Especially during the Olympics:

A very nice campaign by the agency DDB Brazil for the customer Fedex Express on clichés
of the photographer Manolo Moran. Emphasis was placed on the speed with which the mark
at issue around the globe. More visual in the following section.

What can I say? It's playoffs.

I hate to perpetuate the stereotype of hockey and beer, ahh hell, no i don't hate it. But anyways, beer commercials are so damn funny sometimes:

Yves posted on Friday on the FontFeed about a couple of campaigns by Inlingua promoting their business English courses.
One of them is this brilliantly animated advert, creating a battlefield scenario out of words set all in Helvetica caps.

As Yves says:
The video looks and feels like a first-person shooter war game, with excellent POV camera work and sound design. The camera runs and ducks through the environment, hiding behind walls and in trenches, while being assailed from all Yves Peters, The FontFeed.
sides by helicopters, fighter jets, tanks, and explosions made of type.

ok, one more...

Honesty 05-23-2010 05:34 PM

This one's hella fuckin' funny!

genuinegirly 05-23-2010 07:03 PM

That's really messed up, Honesty. Though the condom one earlier was quite possibly the most effective one I've seen in a while.

Jetee, the business English commercial was artistic and fun.

one more cute one.

IdeoFunk 05-23-2010 09:28 PM

Haha looks like you can't go wrong when you just hype up your product to the max.

genuinegirly 05-24-2010 08:52 AM

Sadly, not a real commercial.

Jetée 05-24-2010 08:31 PM

I just randomly came to encounter this ad, as I was searching for something else altogether:

[dtheatre.]

(^^ I found this random blog entry about it afterwards, to give it some context.)

Jetée 05-24-2010 09:50 PM

Since GG opened up the precedence:

Only caveat is: this is an actual advertisement by Burger King (or at least a segment of the chain in endorsement to it).
It's meant to be an "interesting approach to reach out to a large segment of their audience.", otherwise known as directed (targeted) advertising.

Alternate tagline:
"If you can't sleep, pleasure yourself.

Now open late."

I'm really loving the Swagger Wagon:

Leto 05-25-2010 06:31 PM

oh... and beer again:

genuinegirly 05-26-2010 02:49 AM

"Ottawa, we have a problem." Priceless!

Leto 05-31-2010 07:01 AM

in the interest of providing a little more variety, here's one about, ... ah crap. It's beer again:

Nimetic 06-18-2010 05:08 AM

I like this one.

Although... it's not the same on a small screen. It doesn't have same surprise value as when I first saw it in the cinema.

Urrr. I think I might have posted it once before....
