I like the insistent blonde woman. For some reason I find her funny.

I don't know how effective it is. The whole "who have you known longer" argument was kind of stupid. I've known about McCain for over a decade, that doesn't mean I'm voting for him.

So here's what I got out of that. White republicans think that bloodlines constitute terrorists and.. that giving low income families a home is bad.

And.. they don't know who Sarah Palin is.

Man.. I'm so glad I live in a country where mob mentality takes over any good reasoning.

Not one of them gave me a convincing reason for what they believe or support, which tells me they speak from emotion. This isn't common in Republican voters, is it? I hope not. I'm sure it's possible in Democratic voters as well, but what's at stake here is the truth. (I don't think Obama is a terrorist.)

Republicans used to be the "common sense" party way a long time ago. The last couple of decades, they've become "values" voters. They vote for whatever stokes their passion, which is usually gay people or taxes. This time around, it's this unbiding conviction that Obama is an Islamic radical.

There's no denying the demographics. Democrats are more likely to be better educated. But then that's because colleges are all pits of liberal vipers.

Americans, gotta love em.

Well, it was in direct response to the "Who IS Barack Obama???" message that the McCain campaign was floating over the last couple days. The point this guy is making (into a vacuum, evidently) is: Well, who the hell is Sara Palin, then?? Fortunately, the electorate appears to be in enough pain over the economy, it really doesn't matter that McCain says we don't know Obama--they just want whoever looks like they can solve the problem the best.

I'm curious how the GOP became the party of the rich and the low-IQ. (Yes, that's a radical simplification, Republican TFPers, and yes I'm willing to accept that there may be exceptions; please unwad your undies.) Any theories on that? Is it just that the low-IQ faction is gullible and susceptible to rich-faction Fair and Balanced manipulation? If the low-IQ faction actually understood how bad the rich faction is screwing them, they'd be gone in a heartbeat.

In a word? Rush. Millions of apathetic voters, mostly males age 18-35 became politically active after hearing Rush Limbaugh's simplified bullshit political theories.

The uber rich in the GOP aren't stupid. They know they aren't the base, but the base that benefits from all these gummint programs they denounce saves them tax dollars. So they're happy.

I seem to remember a time when the dems were the tax and spend party, while the GOP was the less government party. That doesn't resonate with "Joe Sixpack".

But those gays? Wanting to marry? And that Obama guy who refuses to wear a flag lapel pin? And those flag burners? Gosh durn they make their blood boil.

And that is why we have Sarah Palin, a vote and coronary away from runnin' th' entire works.

it's funny, I was talking to a white republican female yesterday.. I asked her what she thought of Palin. She thought Palin would make a good president because she has that American Mom attitude. I then asked her what she thought about the John Vogel thing. She didn't know about it. SO I told her and she said well that's just something she believes in and it wouldn't cloud judgement.

The funny thing is.. this all came after I asked her what she thought of Obama. She said that because Obama had muslim ties, he would end up selling us out to the terrorists and that she thought McCain should be in office so he could A-bomb all of the muslims for capital punishment. I asked her if she felt Americans deserved the same treatment. This was met with a blank stare. So basically, she doesn't have a clue about either candidate and she's voting purely on emotion and in some ways I think, race.
