People in Waves
this is craazy...and somehow disgusting too.
|
What. The. HELL.
Can you imagine all the pee in that water? |
Now I want to see that with pressure waves.:devious:
|
I get the willies just looking at that. Imagine being one of the people in the middle of the pool. I would think they are way beyond the capacity of that pool. That just can't be safe.
|
I'm sorry, sir, but our pool is already beyond capacity. Why don't you try the one over there if you want to swim laps. What? You just came for the waves? Oh, then, by all means hop on in.
Looks like a great way to get injured. |
and then, there's this......

'thell is that?!? :oogle:

The important thing is that this inspired me to learn about how different wave pools are operated. How Stuff Works has a good article, but holy shit are they overrun with ads and pseudo-articles that are really ads these days.

Further proof that Japan is too crowded. I think the population density is something like 500 people per square inch.
|
Apparently there is a lot of groping on their trains... (Rumour has it). Just makes me wonder how it is for the girls in a crowded wave pool.
And on another note.... it looks a rather dangerous. I have terrible thoughts about some kid sinking to the bottom and not being found until end-of-day. I mean - I'd not want to be a supervisor. |
I would note that during my time in Japan I learned quite a lot about how human beings can cope well with population density. The Japanese do it far better (cleaner, more-respectful, and crime-free) than Americans, for example. There are deep cultural reasons for this, which are fairly well-known. It is remarkable however, to see it in practice on any typical day in Tokyo or any other densely populated city there.

That is how concert venues should be set up in the summer.
Then, I wouldn't be pushed forward by a sweaty person into another sweaty person in front of me. And the issue of jumping to the music would be solved. Have the waves somehow synched with the music. |
Re my comment re groping, this was a spur-of-the-moment joke. Probably not a fair one and not one intended to generalize re Japanese.
In a large group, I would expect that certain things will occur more frequently, even on a per-head basis. However I've always understood though that Japan has a documented low crime-rate overall. This too is often mentioned in papers/journals etc. |
Count me out, way to many people for me!
