Myspace "in the butt" Sister owned by Brother
I'm sorry, I know i'm horrible for this but I cannot stop laughing. tooooo funny. |
Hahaha, yeah I saw this the other day. Pretty funny.
|
Sorry, not all that funny. Just kind of pathetic and mean.
|
well, sort of funny, but if my kid ever talks about raping in the butt around his mother, I will kick his ass.
|
America hurts my soul.
|
Yea, this isn't funny.
It's sooo HILARRRRRRIOUS to joke about sexual violence. |

Yea, I can see how it's funny to joke about being raped in the butt. I don't intend to lighten up. |

He made her cry.
Hurting each other is something to laugh at? I know that young siblings tease and can be mean.. That is why society depends on more mature people, to say, hey!..that is not cool, go to your room. |

HOW DARE YOU. |
You know what, I'm sorry Shauk for participating in a threadjack. I shouldn't have bought the bait. My bad. I think we should all apologize.
|
Wow, this thread has officially been taken WAY TOO SERIOUSLY.
AGAIN I SAY LIGHTEN UP. No wonder I tend to stay in Tilted Nonsense, everything else is so fucking serious. SERIOUS BUSINESS. |
Hey, I'm sorry, Shauk. I didn't mean to derail your post.

It's easy to say lighten up when you're not the one being affected by something. I guess I should just say "fucking niggers" every time I see black people, and then tell them to "lighten up" when they get mad. Maybe "haha, you got raped.." doesn't bother you, but statistically there are just as many people affected by that as "fucking niggers." Saying "lighten up" from a position of privilege is the pinnacle of ignorance. |
eh, it's funny cuz it's about myspace, and their reaction to meeting people on myspace is absurd, I've met plenty of people of the site, girls even, and none of them get raped in the butt.
THE FUNNY PART to me, is the myspace dramatization AND the fact that she freaked out about "kevin" which I assume is her boyfriend or some guy she is dating given her reaction that she was outed as hanging out with "jimmy" don't you think she was a little over the top? obviously she had something to hide. she probably logged in to her myspace to find a message from Kevin going "hey you bitch you lied to me, I'm breaking up with you!" and so then she cried. Anyways, thats my take on it. Quote:
1. Thank you Will and Cromp for your apologies, it's cool 2. Jinn, porch monkeys, we're taking it back! 3. and apology from Jinn would be great, since you can make your own thread about how unfunny it is instead of jacking this one ya know? |

I apologize too Shauk. |
I'm sure an apology would be nice.
Then again, so would everyone saying: "It's okay, racism, sexism and sexual assault are all gone. Everyone is equal, and there is no problem of violence against women. " Neither would be genuine, as nice as they would be to believe. If no one stands up and says "No, that is not funny. No, that does hurt people" then 'ownage' like this will continue to be labeled as funny. |
I don't see derailment here...I am hearing gut-reactions and intelligent discourse.
Shauk...if I said anything to offend...I am sorry. |

I dunno, if I was a rapist, I wouldn't rape a fat chick in the butt.
Also, that guy's a douchebag. I don't like stupid teen girls, but the chick didn't deserve all that. |

Just because she's a woman doesn't mean shit to me, if it was a girl with the camera and a 18 y/o guy getting chewed out, I would have laughed all the same. You're really just getting pretty fucking insulting at this point by trying to paint this a propaganda tool for spreading disrespect and violence towards women. look at it for what it really is, "keep it simple stupid" give people on tfp more credit than that, seriously. this isn't your local trailer court. trying to read more in to every little thing on the internet is just going to drive you stupid. |
Ironically, the first few minutes of this to me didn't reflect the idea that she could have been raped in the butt...
butt more about the rant about your parents thread because she states that she's 18 and doesn't need to report her whereabouts to her family. Quote:

My intent is not to insult you, only to demonstrate that these "jokes", whether it's "I'd hit it" or "Haha, you could've gotten raped in the butt" have an effect on our collective perceptions of things. When "being raped" is funny, it's a lot harder to look at it as the serious thing that it really is. |
I thought it was moderately funny. What that says about me, I don't know.

Personally, sad and pathetic (funny) up until she broke down and cried. That was mean of her brother.

Cynth, you keep that in the 5th pocket of your jeans, don't ya? |
All I have to say is, thank goodness I am an only child!

Seriously, people here are entitled to their opinion of how they percieve this. It isn't up to anyone else to decide their opinion for them. If you dont' get that, press the back button.

In the butt?
|
IN THE ASS! oh sorry mom! IN THE BUTT!
|
In honest retrospect, I would've been totally okay with this sophomoric humor if he'd simply been mocking his sister for doing it in the butt. But since he was saying she could've been raped in the butt (an altogether real and terrible act) it doesn't really seem very funny.
|
You mean nobody here has an asshole brother?
|
Eh, I thought the video was fairly humourous when I first saw it. I don't think it's valid to say that finding humor in it is making light of sexual assault...because she wasn't sexually assaulted. This video is totally separate from sexual assault.
Part of the reason it's amusing is because both the mom and the daughter are being rather stupid about the whole thing. The daughter certainly could have been safer about meeting someone from the internet, but generally speaking the odds were on her side in terms of safety. The mother, on the other hand, comes across as one of those "everyone on the internet is a murdering rapist!" people...and the fact she geels the need to call all of her daughter's friends when she didn't get home by 10pm is just further evidence of that paranoia and overprotection. As much of a jerk as the brother was being, I think he was probably the only one who saw how ludicrous both of them were being. |
Kevin should be ashamed.
|
Brothers that age do stupid shit like that. It's the mother laughing at it that makes me cry.
|
You know, it's funny or it would have been if it had remained in the family. The brother is an obnoxious ass who needs to be smacked upside the head. The mother is can't parent her way out of a paper bag.
It's a sitcom for the era. Where it stops being funny is when the idiot brother posted this for everyone to see on youtube. That's just cruel and mean to his sister. Lack of respect isn't funny. |
well then I wouldn't have anything to laugh at.
it's a good look into the lowest common denominator of america, which is why it's FUCKING HILARIOUS. you all can act like it doesn't exist but this is video proof of why people suck :D |
Quote:
It makes me a little nauseous. They're all terrible people, or at the very least depicted at their absolute worst (I hope). |
I thought it was funny. In the butt.

I'm not denying that it exists... I just don't find it funny when it is real. If this was some sort of sitcom... it would probably elicit a chuckle (in the butt could even be a catch phrase that would sweep the nation).
When it's real? Not so much. |
Charlatan:
I had mostly the same reaction as you: the brother is a douche bag. I can only hope the sister posts the sequel video (meant to "stay in the family") of her beating the shit out of her younger, meaner brother. This gives me an idea... Imagine a real life sitcom where people video tape the horrible horrible things that happen in their homes and post them online! It will be dynamite. It might even get better ratings than the show with Ustwo and WillRavel as roommates. Why are they roommates and in college still, you ask? Just work with me here, it flows better than them being neighbors. It'll be dynamite. |
I like the way you think

typical 2000 style divorce family.
|
Pretty funny but goes to show that most people that make bad decisions don't think they are bad decisions when they make them and teens typically take the longest to realize and/or admit that their decision was indeed bad.
|
Is no one else picking up the subtext in the video?
It's obvious that both the brother and the sister consider that meeting someone from the internet is not a serious issue, but the mother has paranoid concerns about her daughter meeting a "stranger" from the internet although she is 18 years of age. He's using catch phrases he's probably heard his mother use hundreds of times.(Get some SENSE in your head, You could have been raped, that could have been a pedophile, etc) He's mocking the situation because he knows that there was as low a probability of his sister being raped/murdered/raped IN THE BUTT as if she were to meet a stranger at a party for five minutes and hit it off. In reality, he is mocking his mother's attitudes about the nature of the internet, probably due to scare stories she's read/seen in the media; rather than making light of rape and murder. (although there is a little of that; I don't think he believes it could happen to his sister, and if it did i'm sure he would not be laughing.) Quote:

jesus
you know what makes me cry?? people taking this so seriously. it's not like he went into a shelter that housed abused and raped women and started making fun of rape. read between the lines a little bit people. if people on here (me and others who will be obvious) joke about nailing crack head hookers and killing people.. is that so wrong? it's obviously not because it's not called out. so if you're going to have a nut sack because someone says the word rape.. then use it on all offensive stuff. just remember.. what's offensive to you isn't always offensive to others. all this "what if" stuff is amazing. it's black and white.. it's put out in a video .. yet as soon as the word rape or whatever comes up.. "OH MY GOD! He's disrespecting women and she could have been raped and here's stats to prove it!" .. seriously. |

BWAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! This thread is HILARIOUS! and no offense to you Shauk, love, but i cant see how it went on for two pages?
ok, so, please don't shoot me /me covers head with arms :D but i kinda get what Jinn is saying... However, this was not the thread for it... and i'm sure we all get what Jinn was saying, cos we are not DOF (STCHUPID) peeps. We all know that rape is serious and is not something to be joked about ... but seriously, SHE WAS NOT RAPED! i look at this video and i laugh cos had that been my brother, and his friend was there, i would have just nicely asked my bro to hand me the cam please, ask his friend to keep on taping and kicked the SHIT outta him and the still put it on you tube. how this thread took such a turn is beyond me. when i first saw this thread i thought it might have been a sequel to the song in some thread that escapes me now... "I said what what, in the butt, i said what what, in the butt!!! you wannadoitinmy butt, in my butt!" LOL WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA |
wierd, i just watched it and the only person who really spoke any sense was the brother. the mum simply grounded her but the brother drew out exactly what happened. perhaps it wasn´t the best idea for the girl to meet this random guy at his friend´s house. not sure she´s going to do it again after such a grilling from her brother. i think his method was poor but i think he was the only one to get any serious sense across to his sister.
