Comedy classical music
I think you will like this. They are both formally trained classical musicians but also do comedy classical music performance. :D
|
nice....
here's a couple clips from the last "beyond the fringe" performance in london, 1961--dudley moore's piano schticks are hilarious--and he was a hell of a pianist to boot. i saw this the night of the 4th, in the middle of what sounded like a huge artillery barrage in chicago...when i could hear it above the mimed war, it was hilarious.... beethoven parody: little miss britten: |
Victor Borge. The best ever. I still show his routines in my classes.
|
Ah yes. I found these a while back... they are awesome (if you've played piano as a kid anyways)
|
Okay have only watched the first one so far and I have to say ... the piano man is just awsome... I want to be him, but why is hte other man not wearing pants?
|
I truly enjoyed those routines, and it made me want to enroll in formal training again...
if only for the major amount of female kudos I'll be getting by being able to make beautiful music and make her laugh at the same time. Nah, the music is its own reward! :D |
these movies were funny and awsome!
loved the third movie in the first set.. myself being a pianist with big hands, i still hated stretching my fingers to play those massive chords =) Thanks for the post! |
I think Igudesman was not wearing pants because he was doing another skit previously. The other videos show it. Not sure why the skit requires him to wear shorts.
Victor Borge is also one of my favourite pianists :P |
Man, that Phonetic Punctuation duet with Victor Borge and Dean Martin was beautiful.
There should be a cable channel dedicated to these classic talk/variety shows. It would probably fail like the Gameshow channel did, but one can dream. Hooray for the internet. |
