Simply stunning. I hope the one who took the picture wins an award!

I don't know, hell I don't even know where I found it, I find Interesting stuff all the time and just stick them in a folder and post when I have time.

He took it from a paraglider. Just pointed the camera straight down as he flew overhead.

Ahhh, it got me too. I always get desert and dessert messed up.

In any case, that is an awesome photo and deserves a prize ...though I would give a different prize/recognition to this kind of serendipitous photo where somebody happens to be at the right place at the right time vs. a more active creative process.

I wouldn't say it was serendipitous. He knew the camels were there. Could have just taken the shot on the ground like everybody else, but instead he got into a paraglider, flew over the camels, and then snapped it. Serendipity rarely makes great photographs. You also need the photographic skill to take advantage of that serendipity.

What you say is true. If he worked the situation to make the best of it, then that is not really serendipity, that's what a creative photographer does. If he was paragliding around with a camera and came upon this site and snapped it, that's less creative in my estimation. I didn't see a link to how it actually happened so I'm still not sure.
