What does dota stand for? I can't find it anywhere.. The only things I can find are maps.

Defense of the Ancients.
I just started playing last week and am doing alright.
I havnt tried all of the heros yet but i've found a few that i like.
It's been very laggy for me lately though , so i havnt been playing.

I've been a big DOTA fan for a while. Unfortunatly, the map's going through some growing pains right now, but it's still a great map. The best part is that it's pretty easy to pick up, but has alot of depth.

For those who don't know what the fuck W3 :: Dota stands for, it means...wait...what the fuck does it mean?

P.S. I got the "Defense of the Ancients" bit, but what is W3?

Yeah, W3 is Warcraft III. Although DotA is a mod that requires you have The Frozen Throne, as well.

So, it's more like W3:TFT.

I've been playing an absurd amount of WC3 over the past week or so. Mostly 1v1 games on Bnet (no custom really). I have played DOTA, or something very similar, but it didn't strike me as that addictive. Perhaps I'll give it another go.

Yea hooked on DOTA for another stint, I come back from time to time, been playing this map for god knows how long. I started back with the original predecessor to DOTA known as Aeon of Strife and eventually moved on when dota became clearly better. So yea, still not loving the changes since they moved from 5.8etc to 6.0+ but I'm getting used to them finally. I play with some friends and regularly get new people hooked on it, its nice to be able to play short games like that, win/lose, move on. Long live warcraft 3's campaign editor, is there anything it can't do!

Skill build :
1 : Storm bolt
2 : Stats
3 : Storm bolt
4 : Stats
5 : Storm bolt
6 : God Strength
7 : Storm bolt
8 : Great Cleave
9 : Great Cleave
10 : Great Cleave
11 : God Strength
12 : Great Cleave
Stats all the way ... God Strength on lvl 16 then Toughness Aura at the end

Item build :
Null Talisman [a must becos of low mana]
Boots of Speed
Gloves of Haste
Power Threads script ---> Power Threads
Mask of Death
Mask of Madness script ---> Mask of Madness
Quarterstaff
Demon Edge
Monkey King Bar script ---> Monkey King Bar
Vit Booster
Messer***(whatever) Reaver
Heart of Tarrasque script ----> Heart of Tarrasque

If the game goes any longer, Stygian Desolator

with godstrength attacking a no-armoured person.. omg insta-death. :P

Beginning :
Just try to farm. If any intel hero starts attacking you just storm bolt and strike him 1 or 2 times.

When you get MOM it's pawning time

God Strength a distance away so that enemies do not see you casting it, then when you're close enough click on MOM then storm bolt for stun and kill away
