Most of the forums work great, But the new home page at www.tfproject.org loads very slowly for me.

Mine loads a little slower than is used to but I think it has a lot to due with the picture of phredgreen. The photo download may take some time, especially if you are not using a high speed connection.

I was having the same problem with my dial up connection but was told to get Firefox for it has an option to not display images that are too large. The irony of their suggestion is that I would have to download a large program (which would take forever and then some) to solve the smaller problem.

It might be slow because a lot of people are currently online at the same time you are. Glancing at the mainpage right now it says that there are currently 228 active users. On smaller forums i notice that logging in seems to go slower when too many people are on.

Yup, it sure does. The server has to generate that page everytime it is requested, it's not just a static page. Combine that with hundreds of users online, and it takes a bit. the pic is only 88k, so it's not the problem.

Nothing can really change other than a few software streamlining issues unless we get enough donations to buy a new server.

I just bookmark the forum main page and avoid the home page since it takes so long to load. The forum loads up quite fast.
