Xenogears was a great game but one major flaw ruined it for me. The Camera positioning was horrible.

Xenosaga was really good also. Alot of people didn't like it because it was about 60% cutscenes 40% gameplay. I just think that it's a different approach to making a game and like it for what it is. Episode 2 looks to be just as good and I'm looking forward to playing it.

The camera!? How can the camera positioning be horrible when the player has complete control over it?

I loved Xenogears. It still holds the record as being the longest game I've ever played. I had 70 hours on my file when I beat it without doing the extra stuff. Great graphics, good gameplay, incredible story, and freakin LONG! One of the best games I've ever played.

Sure you could control the camera, but basically you were deciding which tree/wall you wanted blocking your view. The game had a ton of blindspots. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't enough to make me stop playing but it was an inconvience having to control the camera more than the characters movement.

Maybe it was just me, but disc 1 of Xenogears was fantastic. Very cinematic and really sucked you into the story. Disc 2 seemed really rushed and was a letdown. You spent more time sitting and just watching cut scenes instead of actually playing. Still though, a fantastic game with great graphics and wonderful music. One of the few console RPGs I'd actually play more than once all the way through.

I loved all of Xenogears. I think it was the last great RPG I played with my brother.

Xenosaga was long, boring, and not fun. Don't let anyone tell you different.

For the longest time I would say this was the best game I ever played, but now its been so long since I've gotten really far into it that I don't know if I can say that this is still the best game I ever played. Either way the game was still excellent.

A great game, through the whole first disc. The 'sitting in chairs' second disc was kind of boring, however, and shows how they ran out of time. While the missions were still there, there was no more character development. Also, the el-crescens and el-seibzhen quests were taken out, which was disappointing to me.

Anyways, Emeralda (adult) was my favorite character, I thought she should have played a bigger role, with her being a colony of nanomachines and what. Fei/Id was me second favorite, Weltall-Id was frickin' awesome, though getting Xenogears is great.

The combat was intuitive and fairly original, but lacking. The gear/char balance was way off, IMO. It does however, boast the best story I've seen in any RPG.

i agree i think the second disc seemed rushed... i think the guy who made the story realized that his story was going to take longer to finish compared to what square wanted. \

i remember i was so sad when the game finished only to see episode 5 on the credits i was so hyped for the next episodes

Best RPG ever. Disc two was a bit rushed (hey guys, lets narrate everything instead of having you actually play through) but overall it was awesome.

Then again, it might be I loved it just because I have a hard on for robots.

I never really got into the whole 'robot'/mech idea, which is probably why i slept on xenosaga. The graphics were amazing along with most of the story although i never ended up finishing the game.
