Hey guys.. Im curious if anyone knows of a good webpage grabber? Ive been using ezpics for a while now. Ive also used winHTrack with little ease.

Im looking for something that I can put a webpage addy in and it just do the rest. Is there anything?

Can someone tell me something about these pic grabbers? Can they grab the full -sized pics off a site? You know the ones you have to click on to get the full-sized pic? Can a pic grabber do this? Thanks for the info

That's essentially what a grabber does...
Saving the images on one pages -thumbnails- is in most regular browsers not a problem, it is the linked pages (images) that these grabbers are built for.

You give the grabber a URL, and tell it to replicate the complete site on your computer. You can specify how deep (no pun intended) the links should go, and wether you want external sites mirrored as well. Most grabbers work very well and create a completely browseable local copy of the whole site links, images, video, tekst included.

Now if the full-sized images are named sequentially (or at least predictably) you can use EZpics (I believe) to download only those pictures. You specify it the first picture and how it should derive other pictures' names. The data required for EZpics is called an EZcode. It is mentioned on some sites to make downloading easier.

and keep in mind, i have seen a few sites where grabbing the pics is a pain in the arse, regardless of which prog you use.
sites that have a more complicated setup (using php or whatever) than the simple all-the-images-of-a-set-are-in-the-same-dir setup.

(ps) what i use is MetaProducts Offline Explorer. once you have the default 'project template' set up, which takes just a couple mins, you can just simply add a url and have it start downloading.
but, it's NOT freeware. quite expensive, depending on which version you get.
