XBOX Component Video Trouble

I have the XBOX and the Gamelink Component Video cables with it. Problem is that the component video cables distort the colors. It was not always this way and has been recently. Using the default composite cables that come with the XBOX there are no problems at all. Only with the component cables. I know that the component video works on the TV because our DVD player uses the same connection and it works fine.
I know it has to be something wrong with either the cables or the XBOX.
Any solutions anyone?

Tried that...twisted them around, no avail. We did get a flickering of normal color for a bit but then went back. When I checked further, the connections are as tight as they can be on both ends.

Well, at last I found the problem. AFter unscrewing the connection from the cover, I realized that the connection was cut cleanly.
Would this be covered under the manufacturers warranty...but the only problem is I have had them for a long time and I have no receipts. The cables were $60 so I am pretty interested in getting them fixed....maybe someone would know how to solder the connection back possibly?

im not familiar with these specialty wires you speak of, but if they are like the regular component rca cables, as long as the connector to both tv and xbox are ok, you should be able to splice and solder the wiring.

When you say Gamelink cables, you mean the cables made by Monster right? I have a ton of monster stuff and they all have lifetime warranties to go along with them. I found this page on their site http://wsc.monstercable.com/warranty...ard.html&-view

You have to register your product there. The only tricky part is that you have to type in the last 6 digits of the UPC of the product. I think if you just go to a store and write that info down, since it is all the same anyways, then you should be able to register, and potentially get your cables replaced. Just a suggestion.
