Is there any way to play PC games based on older versions of windows on an XP machine?
After reading about Diablo III, I wanted to play DII on my laptop but it wouldn't work.

You should be able to use Compatibility Mode to run older games.

1. Right-click the program icon on your desktop or the shortcut on the Start menu for the program you want to run, and then click Properties.

2. Click the Compatibility tab, and change the compatibility settings for your program.

Also make sure you're running service pack 2 or higher.

I can play Diablo 2 on my computer just fine. XP Pro SP 3. Don't have to do anything to make it work.

Same here, and got the lvl 21 assassin to prove it

Too bad there aren't too many people interested in trading items anymore.

Used to be that chipped gems were worth quite a bit for instance.
