I wanna design a small website, but I don't know how :(

Any advice or links to sources would be really appreciated. I already have a host and an address, but I don't have any clue how to make actual webpages. I gotta learn somewhere.

HTML can be rather difficult, but theres lots of "drag and drop" programs or online tools for building websites.

http://www.w3schools.com/ is rather good for learning the different languages and such that you can use. I also suggest getting ahold of Dreamweaver for making the page, and not some crap like Front Page. Photoshop is also a very useful tool.

Fireworks is also another good graphics option. IT can create HTML/javascript from the graphics that is easy to drop into Dreamweaver.

A good site for beginners, though it may be more than a bit juvenile, is www.lissaexplains.com .

This might make some of the people who have posted above shudder, but if you just want to post some pictures and text on the web, you can start with Netscape/Mozilla (free) or MS FrontPage (if you have it). Even if you want to get into more elaborate stuff later, you have to start someplace, and either of these programs are easy to use and to find. I kept up a family photos site for a couple of years using Netscape Composer. It wasn't exciting but it did the job.

Some mentioned htmlgoodies.com. That's is where I learned. It basically holds your hand and takes you step-by-step through the basics, and has more advanced lessons if you choose to try them.
