Quickie webpage
Lets say I wanted to start a quick web page that I can post photos on so my friends and family can view the (thumbnails into larger images). I'd pay a little extra to avoid billions of pop-ups…
What's the best service for a computer novice like me to start?

You want to actually code the pages yourself and just look for a place to host them or you want a site to do most of the work for you?
Some of my friends use Picturetrail to show their vacationpics. I must say it looks pretty good for a free site. No popups, only 1 banner. Haven't used it myself though, so I can't say how easy it is to handle, but most of my friends aren't that web savvy, so you can assume it's not that hard.

Yahoo Briefcase (aka Photos).
A program like SuperJPG will create thumbnails and a web page for you: http://www.midnightblue.com/superjpg/. You'll need a place to upload the HTML and images though.
