Jung frequently wrote about an "average run of experience" that every man goes through, which I take to mean that we are all the same in most fundamental respects. As regards Americans, consider that, despite superficial differences in our lifestyle choices, most people tend to strive for a collectively defined "American Dream". The fact that companies can build a huge chain of stores or restaurants or mass-produce products that become very profitable by satisfying most people's tastes seems to negate for the most part the idea that we are all unique individuals.

I have no grounds for justifying my argument but I certainly feel as if we humans - and maybe more than just humans - perhaps everything down to the last molicule are all one conciousness. There's no way I could defend that but it's just a feeling I have.
I think that time has proven that regardless of whatever differences we think we have - when it comes down to brass tacks all of us humans are connected. Be it through our instincts or something more but we're connected. - - As a child I used to wonder things like, whether or not my existence is nothing more than a dream and so all these people - this universe and everything in it is nothing more than a figment of my imgination. Or perhaps I wasn't dreaming - I was just living out my version of my own existence however to another person - a person outside of what I view as reality, I might be in their universe but in a completely different role than....it's rather interesting if you think about it. And who says all those years of being baby-sat by a television is bad for children?

Manic_Skafe, we may have similar experiences and instincts, but chances are every human will disagree with you on something and someone will disagree with anything you believe. This should clearly point to different consciousnesses; two people can experience the same event, but what sets them apart is their interpretation of the event.
I think you might be getting at the fact that we affect those around us, and because of that imprint ourselves a little on them. That may well be, but you can change someone's mind without becoming a part of them. |

It was far too late and I was going off on how we don't know everything that there is to know about humanity, our minds, and different states of conciousness. This could be debated until we're both blue in the face so I'll say this much: I have yet to see anyone who has any conrete proofs on the matter but if you know anyone - point him/her out and I'll be more than happy to agree.

I don't know if I'm every person.... although if I was I would be having some serioust sexual relations with myself as the playboy playmates.......
but apparantly Chaka Khan is every woman and then later Whitney Houston became every woman too.

We may all have similar instincts; however we are all unique and special at the same time.

I'm going to answer no, but my answer is contingent upon how you answer my question. Do bananas like driving tractors? /not mocking, I just think a question like that without supporting context deserves a silly answer.

Actually I'm fairly unique. I've traced it back to being really good at certain things and really awful at others. Basically, when it comes to things like sports, the dating scene, and things of that nature, I can't possibly win if I do it the way everyone else does. On top of that, because I'm practically infallible in a bunch of other areas, I have absolutely no patience. So I adapt and do everything in weird ways. It's a different approach to life.

Well, if you believe in the Gaeia theory (I got this from watching the Final Fantasy movie) Then we are all just little bits of a giant energy/ethereal field and there for we are all technically everyone. Kind of like the cells in your body, cell #1 is you and so is cell#2, so if they are both you then they must also be each other, I think.
I personally think it is about as likely to be true as any other theory. But that does not mean that I believe in it. I wonder if it's even a real theory?

Im not sure if Im every person... Ive had similar experiences with some, the same thoughts and ideas as others and I (have) share(d) a common sensation, life. If you look down a little lower, what makes you a person? Is it the cells, tissues and organs or is it the experiences that youve had on this stimulus called life? Our bodies are made of millions of cells, whos to say that Im not just a single cell in another larger being? Then again whos to say Im wrong if I say " I am I and I am you" ?
The whole world may be little bits and pieces of myself that I have yet to discover. |

Hmm. Maybe I _am_ every person. Maybe the physical being that I am "now" (assuming linear time from my perspective) just doesn't realize (has "forgotten", for example) that he is also everybody else. Regrettably, everybody else forgot too
