Darth Maul vs. Count dooku
Well saw this topic on imdb so thought I would bring it here...
Who would win if they met face to face? My vote goes to Maul because he is fast and fights with an extreme movement in fighting style... But what do you guys think

Dooku... wise in the force and probably more powerful... Could crush a novice like Maul.

Maul never really had a chance to show his stuff really. Cut down (he he) in the prime of his evil years. I felt he was a bit of a tease, really. Would have like to see more of him.

yeah, i was furious that jar jar lived to see episode two while maul was killed off immediately. qui-gon was my favorite character in episode 1 but neither he or maul made it far. lucas is frustrating.
however, dooku would clean up on maul... no doubt about it. maul was beat by a young obi-wan while dooku held his own against yoda in his prime. that's enough for me.

argh, I hate the new star wars. You know what i always wondered, why didn't you see Darth Vader use the force that much in the original star wars? He choked a guy, thats all I really noticed. I mean, what's the deal with that?

Giving an answer in this thread would just go to show how much of a Star Wars geek/fan/nerd I am, so instead I will just point and laugh at all of you awkwardly.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Dooku because he is more powerful and is much more skilled than Maul, however Maul is still more bad ass I said nothing you geek. |

You know, there are more than one Zabrak, just cause he looked cool and had a sweet double light sabre, people think he is the best thing to ever come out of Lucas. Dooku would blaze him down in lightning, then go take a crap.

If kenobi could block dookus lightning with his saber I would guess maul also could...
And I think Maul also is so cool because he is the first zabrak in the star wars films

I doubt Maul could have taken on Yoda. Dooku managed to hold off the greatest jedi long enough to distract him by trying to crush Kenobi and Skywalker.
DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU VALUE THE EXPERIENCE OF WATCHING STARWARS WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN. Spoiler: The movie opens with 10 minutes of the best cgi space battle in history, after the ten minutes, Anikin defeats Dooku by beheading him with two lightsabers (the red lightsaber is later adopted as Vader's , and the blue becomes Luke's). Dooku being dead, Grevious becomes the lead seperatist under Sideous. This leads me to believe that Dooku, despite being the padewan of Yoda, is far from the great and powerful Jedi he is made out to be in Episode II. He is more of a politician than a fighter. Maul, on the other hand, was a bread fighter. I think that he was technically superrior to Dooku, but only fell short in experience with force powers. Had Maul trained more with force powers like lightning, I would say they were an even match. I do agree that Darth Maul was overrated by fans. He was powerful and important, but he was not this amazing character everyone seems to think he is. I would have liked to see his character developed more. Maybe the Kamino cloners can crank out a few. |

The script got leaked on here a loooooooooong time ago..like last year. If you search it should be around. It tells the entire movie from begining to end though..it'd spoil the whole movie for you really. I read it though because I don't particularly care THAT much...any idiot could have put two and two together and figured out what was going to happen without reading the script anyway.

Dooku
Lets face it Obi-wan wasted Maul as padawanand then years later as a jedi knight he can't even scratch Dooku even with the help of his apprentice who happens to become Darth-frickin-Vader. The results are clear, it took Yoda to scare Dooku away while a padawan Ben sliced Maul in half... winner: Dooku

I say dooku.
in response to wiilravel above- DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU VALUE THE EXPERIENCE OF WATCHING STARWARS WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN. " Yeah, well, Anakin does this right in front of the "kidnapped" Palpatine. Maybe Palpatine wanted Anakin to win, and had a hand in the fight, so to speak. For what it's worth: In the novelization, (DAMN I'm a nerd!!!) the reason Dooku is so hard to defeat is that he fights in the old style, more like fencing, than the swinging style of the two jedi. The new style is effective against blocking off blaster blasts, or whatever, but the fencing style is far better against other light sabers. Remember how Dooku's light saber looked different, curved handle, etc.. -well, that was what was originally planned, but they supposedly changed it because it didn't look as good on screen. |

The Mandalorians launched a campaign starting on the Outer Rim, devastating planets before the republic could send their support. The Jedi Council was reluctant to send the Jedi in aid of the republic. However, several Jedi ignored the wishes of the council and answered the call, unable to ignore the millions of innocents being slaughtered by Mandalore's forces. The two Jedi who led those answering the call were Revan and Malak, knights who showed great potential in the force. Revan was a brilliant strategist, respected by the Mandalorians, and eventually led the republic to victory on Malachor V. While on the outer rim, however, Revan and Malak were changed. They talked the forces loyal to them into defecting and starting a new Sith legion, returning to the galaxy with a massive fleet, on a campaign to destroy the Old Republic. And so began the Jedi Civil War, which plays out over the course of the first KotOR game.

Darth Maul vs A Knight and a Padawan (Qui Gonn and Obi Wan): Result, dead Darth Maul, one dead Knight.
Dooku vs a Knight and a Padawan (Obi Wan and Anniken): Result, one injured Knight (not serious), and one maimed Padawan (missing arm). Seriously if Yoda hadnt interfered it would have been Dooku 2, Jedi nada. My vote goes with Dooku.

man how did I miss this thread..
Ok Maul.. Was a Darth but still and apprentice. Trained by I suspect the emporer. Therefore he too would have been strong in the force. he was skilled much like Exar Kun the first Sith/Jedi to weild two light sabers that attached at the ends to create a double bladed sabre. I suspect if we had seen more of Maul he would have shown that he too was strong with the force. He not only challenged a Master and his Apprentice he Killed the master not just wounded the Master. Imho he would/should have lived through the fight between him and Obi Wan. Dooku. Trained by Master Yoda. Lets face it .. the baddest Jedi in the Galaxy. He is strong in the Force and skilled with a Lightsaber. Cool and collected under fire. Attacked by an over zealous padawan, Anakin and his very skilled Master Obi Wan. Obi Wan although skilled in the force was also over zealous and head strong. He was confident but also by his actions asking for him and Anakin to attack in sync shows that he too felt over matched. Although Anakin was dispatched quickly at first against the force lightning of Dooku, Obi wan was not. And held his own for a time. (not aswell admitedly as he did against Maul) Then with skill Dooku did not kill but only wounded him! Why? Because he is not a murderer. He did not want to harm either Jedi really. This shows alot of skill. He could have killed them both. Regardless of Yoda's presence. As for how it all played out. Maul should not have been killed by such a feeble attack as the one so easily deffended upon from Obi Wan. But because of his murderous tendencies was too over confident. Dooku was not. Skill in the force and battle is key. Although I would have liked to see more of Maul I do think that Dooku would have ultimately put him down. Vote: Dooku.

For all who pretend to be SW fans...how is it that you can not spell ANAKIN? :::Sigh:::
That is just SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD. Anywho...Christopher Lee was much better in LOTR than he was in SW. But I'm going to vote for him because of the simple reason that I loathe Darth Maul. This being because he killed Qui Gonn. Bastard!
