NLP, for the Jedi Mind Trick Powers.

Quantum Physics. Just to prove Feynman wrong when he said "I think it's safe to say that nobody understands quantum physics."
Here's a good summary on NLP and why it isn't the Jedi Mind Trick people try to make it out to be http://skeptoid.com/audio/skeptoid-4155.mp3 Transcript: NLP: Neuro-linguistic Programming |

but really, NLP does collect together a lot of tools that can improve performance in a very narrow, prescriptive manner... so for a lot of people it will work. Like Callan Method language learning. It's like the huge set of manuals that scientologists are weighed down with... there's actually some good stuff in there, stolen from a huge range of sources. The problems are, as ever, the narrative that holds it together, the organisation that pushes it, the manner it's pushed around, the hype and the money. Scientology is on another planet to NLP entirely, though... (another gag, see? ![]()

MSD: thanks for the link.
I'd heard a little about NLP, but never really read into it. I'd insta-learn about the human body... muscles/massages/bones/... anything that you can actually help somebody with/at without needing a big office/braces/special pills...

I'm a science/math oriented person but lately I've been thinking what I would love to do if money was never an issue in my life...I think it would be to cook. to be a world class chef. The only problem is I can't cook well at all. I love food and I love exploring foods but it would be amazing to be able to MAKE those foods for myself and my friends/family.

Father, I'm ignorant.
He would master the rules and techniques of the city, why the one way streets were chose, how the stock-market worked, what notaries did. It wasn't a hellish Bunny Hop if you knew the true names of things. He would study leaves and bark, and visit stone quarries as his father had done. Good-bye, world of Kleenex. The Favourite Game by Leonard Cohen I want to know the true names of things. |
