iPod/iTunes Question
I have a whole bunch of music on my computer on iTunes I want to give my buddy. He has an iPod, I don't. I don't want to burn CDs with all the files on them because I have about 10 gigs and it would take forever. Is there anyway he can come over to my house, plug in his iPod, and upload music from my computer to his iPod?
Would this work? Would it delete what he already has on his iPod? Will he still be able to use iTunes on his computer? And would I be able to use iTunes on my computer when I get my iPod (Christmas)? Thanks if anyone has any answers. |

If he mounts his ipod as a disk before plugging it in ( it used to be reset it, then hold back and forward as it reboots, but i'm not sure of the command now) then it'll just mount as a portable hard drive, copy the music over that way. he wont be able to listen t oit on his ipod, but if he puts it back on his pc and copies it into itunes then the ipod will sync with it and it'll all be playable onthere, be sure he delertes the files you transferred over afterwards. This should work as long as he has enough free space for it.

check out podplayer http://www.ipodsoft.com/softwaredetail.aspx?sid=7
lets you upload and download music from the ipod... and its a single .exe so you can just copy it onto your ipod when its recognized as a hard drive and just use that on any computer... so just downlod pod player... plug his ipod in close itunes open pod player... upload muisc to his ipod close pod player disconnect ipod and your done...

While I assume ya'll are talking about PCs, and since the iPod started in the Mac world, I'll throw in the fact that if you have a Mac just plug it in. It will ask if you want to link that pod with your mac just click no. It will mount in iTunes and you can copy over the needed tracks. he can then use a Pod ripper to rip them off his pod and down to his Pc/Mac.
