If you need anymore specs feel free to ask.

I'd like to try and configure it through my BIOS, but please help me out thank you.

Running on Windows XP Pro.

I'm pretty sure you never asked a question. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Do you want to know how to overclock? What to overclock? If it will work? What you need? Throw us a frickin bone here.

Oh crap, I was so caught up into displaying my specs to ask a question that I didn't ask my question! Sorry ^_^, How do I overclock that through BIOS?

Eh, I didn't feel like writing much, so I found a site that gives a pretty good basic description of the process:

http://cahtech.beigetower.org/howto/overclocking.php

Basically, what you want to do is go into your BIOS and look for a system settings screen that includes multiplier, FSB, memory speeds, or things of that nature. Then make them higher than they are.

Just make sure things don't get too hot in there while you're doing so. That is all.

ok, on my mother board I found a clock switch, I flicked it on and my processing speed went from 1.25ghz to 1.67ghz. Is there anyway I can overclock it more? What's the highest and stable speed my Athlon 2000+ XP can go? And how do I do it?

Your Athlon XP 2000+ is supposed to be 1.67 GHz. You just turned on the FSB jumper for 266 MHz FSB processors. You must have had it at 200 MHz FSB processors resulting in the lower clock speed.

Now that you're at normal speeds, you can attempt overclocking. There's a few things you should know, however: there are three types of Athlon XP 2000+. Thoroughbred A Core, Thoroughbred B Core, and Palomino Core. Unfortunately, unless you want to take a soldering iron to your processor, the only way to OC with any results is if your processor is a Thoroughbred B Core. This isn't the same with all Athlon XP processors, but it is fact with 2000+.

Go into BIOS and change the FSB (System Clock) from 133 to 135 or more. That's basically how you overclock. Save the settings and exit BIOS. If your PC turns on with no errors, check the temperature of the processor and keep going in slow increments. If you can't go much more than 134 MHz FSB, then you probably have a Thoroughbred A Core or Palomino Core. If it keeps going, congratulations, you have a Thoroughbred B Core.

If you go *really* high with a T-Bred B Core, then you'll need to increase the voltage to the processor and RAM.

By the way, if your RAM is low quality, you probably won't be able to OC at all. RAM is the key factor in OC'ing (after determining if your processor is the correct core). If your RAM sucks, so will your OC'ing experience.

Finally, I gotta add one more thing: it's not worth OC'ing your PC. OC'ing it will do just about nothing to your performance. If you want a HUGE performance boost, buy a new videocard, because the one you have now sucks really bad. If you want suggestions, give me a price range and I'll be happy to help out.

This is correct. Overclocking, unless done to the extreme, really doesn't increase performance that much.

For example, I keep my P4 2.4C at 2.9 ghz basically for shits and giggles plus the fact that I really don't care if it happens to fry (I'm due for a proc upgrade). Even with the .5 ghz increase I only gain 1000 points on Aquamark. So yes, while OC'ing may be a fun hobby, don't except your comp to go from slow to uber fast.
