Building a PC
Well, I have recieved everything I need to build my new PC and putting all the hardware in was simple. Now I am trying to figure out how everything gets plugged in. The first thing I am curious about is how do I plug in the 5 case fans. Comming out of the power supply is two sets of wires. One set has 2 plus for the hard drives. The other set has two plus for disk drives and one plug for floppy drive.
Where do I plug in the fans? My CPU fan has a speed switch that also has a four pronged plug like the plugs for the hard drives. Where am I supposed to plug all this stuff in?

If it's a standard case fan you want to connect it to this:
A normal ATX connector, this is probably what you wan't to connect to. The four pronged thing you see is probably a Male ATX connector. If it looks like this however: You want to connect it right to the motherboard: This type of plug is usually used for proc HSF's and other monitored fans. |

It is a normal ATX connector and I can daisy chain them. Now I am wondering why I have 6 internal drive bays and only 2 power plugs.

Cheaper ones tend to have less plugs than the more expensive ones. Yes you can daisy chain them but try to spead them out as much as you can. If you have 2 headers with 2 plugs each stick your HDD's on one and all the fans on another. |

your mobo won't' have 5 of those 3 pin connectors. usually they have 2. you can get 4 pin power splitters for like .50 each at www.svc.com
what they do is turn one of thsoe 4 pin power connectors into 2 of them. i have 3 fans in my case and they are working fine |

OK I got the fans plugged in and I only have a couple of the 3 pin connectors to hook up.
Now the last thing I have to plug in is the mic and headphone connections from the front panel. The problem is that the labels on the various plugs from the wire that comes from the front panel dosent match the FPIO2 header on the mobo. The mobo is set up for 6.1 sound and I think the case has a different sound setup. Can anyone help me with this?
