I'm now leaning towards B too.

Right after she told me "the line" she also said to call her on thursday before she leaves for vacation so that we can figure out something to do when she gets back.

So looks like C is definitley out of the question as you all have pointed out. B is the likely answer and given that she wants me to call her and hang out, A is out too.

I guess on the bright side, I've made a new friend.

Think of it this way.....
It definitely starts out as an A. Once you appear to lose interest, she will start to gain interest. This will get you to step B. She's gained your trust and knows you were not just trying to get in her pants. She knows you can be trusted as a friend. Tell her one day that you have a date and was wondering if you could have her opinion on a shirt you are wearing on the date. She will come over, see what a hunk you are, then keep it in the back of her mind that you have now progressed to level C. Face it dude, if you have one chance in a million to get her, it is still a chance.

A word on option C:
I think it's unsafe to assume that it's C even when there are women like ariekitten (and myself) that sometimes do mean it that way. It's just polite to give a woman her 'romantic space' (I don't know what else to call it) when she says that because that's what you know she wants for sure... or she wouldn't have said it! Besides, I think when C is the answer, it's obvious enough in her body language and tone that there is less of a question about it. (Then again, a lot of the ways that women communicate can be confusing for men... so I hear. )
