The difference between the Democrats and the Republicans is that the Republicans have learned to grow their base and use that to win election, while the Democrats still try to reach to everyone, which unless you are so moderate you crap vanilla ice cream is a doomed stratagy.
At least that is how I see it. I'm not saying it is a GOOD strategy, but it seems to be a WORKING stratagy.

Oh, ho ho ho, after the events of today and yesterday - YES!!! Bring on John Kerry in '08!!!
Can't wait to see how many times he can stick his foot in his mouth. Love how he has tried to insinuate himself into the national debate....

Yes, Paq, but he didn't state that in his original speech, did he?
As a matter of fact, when I first heard it, I was offended for our troups, and I'd even heard the pundits first. He's going to give Repubs some mileage in this last week, and he didn't even mean to. Plus, he really wasn't so presidential in his denial, I don't think. But let the games begin, huh?

At the very least, Kerry should stop trying to tell jokes.
It was obvious to me that the Repub response was just another example of turning criticism of the Iraq war policymakers into a criticism of the men and women fighting the war. But regardless of how you interpret the remarks, what it has done, with the subsequent back and forth comments, is raise a discussion of the Iraq war again as the top news story and it seems to me that this is the last thing Repubs would want discussed in this last week before the election.

His statement was a Rorschach blot. If it's politically expedient for you to hear it as anti-troop, you'll hear it as anti-troop. |

After what Kerry said about the troops in Iraq, Whether he meant it or not, he has no chance of getting the dems behind him. I am strcit republican but if Barak obama ran i would vote for him in a heartbeat. I hope he runs. I hope he wins. I think this country would be much better of with him.

http://capwiz.com/iava/keyvotes.xc/?lvl=C Kerry was graded with a B, your two repub Senators got an D and F. In fact, dems as a whole voted more favorable for these 100+ bills then repubs. "What conservatives have been saying about liberals" is just another one of those myths.

The biggest problem w/ Kerry, and the reason I did not vote for him, was I couldn't predict what he was going to do. I heard him several times say that he had a plan, but I never heard him say what that plan was. This is not to say that he didn't have one, or that he never said what it was, just that his party didn't do a very good job of getting that out to the public. This IMO is why the Dems lost. If the Dems truly desire the White House in '08, they MUST run a better campaign than the "at least were not the Republicans".
