Yep like Laserth said this game is a fighter, it's also on the Microsoft platinum hits collection, $20 bucks is a great price for this game. The zombie games are the "House of the Dead" games.

What should I get (GameCube)
Ok, I've been thinking this one out for a while, but can't make up my mind. I'm looking for a rally game to use my new wheel on, and I can't make up my mind between Dakar 2 and V Rally 3. The video shop near here doesn't have either of them to rent, so I can't really try them. Any of you guys have any suggestions? Observations?

Ha ha, sorry, I never look at the subjects (they don't stand out). IGN gave Dakar 2 bad reviews, and they don't have a review of V Rally 3 at all. I checked Electronic Gaming Monthly, and they don't have a review up for either of them. All I can say is rent'em first I suppose (if you can find them!). IGN does have a review on the PS2 version of Colin McRae's Rally 3 (got good reviews!). I know it's out for Gamecube, so you might want to try it on GC. Sorry that I couldn't find more!

No worries, I'm not really into CM3, CUBE didn't give it a crash-hot review. I think I'll go with V Rally, the general consensus on Dakar is that it's arcade, and I want a more realistic kinda ride.

Oh come all ye PS2 fanboys....
I apologize for the title, but Christmas is around the corner and I have been overcome with good cheer.
No, really. Anyway, I know that there are a lot of PS2 fans here on the forum. So, this is the place to ask. I am going to be getting a PS2 for Christmas (I know, I know, I've waited forever) and was wandering if anybody had any game testimonials and/or recomendations. I'm looking for some killer PS2 exclusive games. I own an X-Box and Gamecube that I play, some would say, religiously so there is a good chance that I've already played the really good cross-platformers. It doesn't matter the genre, as I like to play them all. So, run wild, run rampant and tell me of the greatness that is Sony. |

Final Fantasy X. You really can't go wrong with Final Fantasy.
Gran Turismo 4. I was a big fan of the series on the PS1. Metal Gear Solid 2. One of my favorite games on the PS1. I also look forward to the Gamecube version I keep hearing about. I really like GTA: Vice city. It is so pretty on the X-Box. A couple of really good choices. Thanks, fellows. Anybody else have any suggestions?

There's a thread that recommends MMORPGs around here somewhere. Dig down a page or two and it gives like 9,000 opinions on which MMORPG is the best. I've heard good things from all of them, so it's really just personal choice. I'd go with FFXI right now, but that's just me. I'm waiting for World of Warcraft which will come out in 2010.

I just got done playing Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. I played it for pc, which I would not recommend to anybody here. The amount of frustration connected with using a WASD setup and trying to do the moves and time them right is just too damn hard for the game to be anywhere near as enjoyable as it would be on a console. There's just something about having a form-fitting controller in your hands, and being able to use a pressure-sensitive analog stick for movement that just makes things incredibly easier. The game is pretty damn fun, but the frustration just makes this game not worth it at all on pc, better to go with one of the console versions.

Game selection
If you're looking for a good multiplayer game, I'd definitely go with Battlefield 1942. It's got good gameplay, and the ability to mod has really made it open up, check out moddb.com for what's being worked on for mods for it, and for other games your interested in.

Warcraft 3 with expansion is my favorite game. I can't go a day without playing a game online.
Also Battlefield 1942 with expansions and mods (FPS) Diablo 2 with expansion (action/RPG) all of these multiplayer games will fill many hours of your time and have you addicted fast. also, Enemy Territory is a fun team based FPS and is free to download...so you must get it.

I have to put up another suggestion for Battlefield 1942. Try the Desert Combat mod -- I haven't stopped playing it since I found it.

The lovely Amelia and I have a pc and she liked games like
American McGee's Alice Asylum the Douglas Adams game..... can't remember the title...... Myst Me I like Madden Yahoo fantasy baseball and have found a new cool fantasy/sim baseball game online for free at simdynasty. It's cool you play a full season and have the option to buy a team and go on. It's addictive for me I love baseball, but on the single seasons if you start out badly even with 162 game schedule you don't recover well. Of course like Yahoo depends on if you get into an active leage with trades and so forth. I also like RISK, plop in Ultimate RISK and I'm set for the next few hours.

That would be the one. Out os all those and some of her others, I felt Alice and Asylum were the best. I even enjoyed playing Alice.
Are there any online games like RISK available?

A great title that might go under the radar of the average TFP'er is Metriod: Zero Mission, newly released for the GBA.
A lot of us grew up with the Metroid games back when console and PC styles were truly apples and oranges. Metroid basically blew the lid off the explorable, continuous world in an action game. Super Metroid was quite a worthy follow-up. The other games in the series have been adequate, but not nearly as great. Zero Mission is the original, completely re-done and with a lot more content. A must-buy for people who own GBAs. My only warning would be that if you're skilled at the Metroid-style game, it will seem both short and easy. Still a wonderful game, though. Best Metroid yet.

I have call of duty, it's the best war game ever. My only complaint is that they didn't put any vehicles that you can use, and Unreal Tournament 2004 will be coming out soon enough and you can use vehicles in that if you like that game.
