Where to get info on Wines?

Does anyone know a good internet Wine database that tells me wheter to drink my wines NOW or still wait for them to age... and that has prices etc. The database should have european wines too.
Kinda thirsty.

Reminds of a catch phrase I used to hear a lot...

"I'll drink no wine...before it's open!"

I'm sorry I don't know of such a data base. I am happy to share some wines that are currently available and that I have tried, but other than that, I guess I'm not much help on when to uncork them. Just store them correctly or all those years won't help the flavor more than the elements will hurt them.

That's really the best way to figure wine out. I don't think a comprehensive wine databse really exists, since wine is so time-sensitive and subject to availability. Most wines that are available on the shelf of your local wine merchant are pretty much ready to drink and you probably shouldn't think about cellaring wine unless you're buying high-end wines directly from vineyards.
Some general rules are : Most whites and lighter reds like Beaujolais (Gamay Noir) tend not to age so well. High quality fuller-bodied whites are the exception, they peak anywhere from 5 to 10 years.
For full-bodied reds, it really depends on the quality of the wine, aging a cheap Cabernet Sauvignon won't really do anything, but if you've got your hands on some freshly-bottled Petrus, you're gonna want to cellar it until you have grandkids.

I would recommend tastings, some retail stores will offer tastings for a small fee.

If you check out http://www.wines.com/wines.html , you'll probably find some of the wines in your collection and some tips on storage, tasting, etc.
Also, the wine board is there: http://wines.com/cgi-bin/uubcgi/Ultimate.cgi
You may find your discussions there, or be able to post your collection and have someone appraise it for you.

Enjoy your wine

Wine Spectator and Robert Parker are both good sources for wine related information. You can do searches to find their respective sites. I'm not sure if they charge for the information or not but they each score wines and tell you what phase of the maturation process particular wines are in.

There's a small local Vintage Wine store in my town. Whenever I want good wine I go in and ask the lady working the corner "this is what I plan to eat or have with my wine, or this is the type of event, which wine would you suggest", she'll go through and show me which wines she likes, and fully describe their flavor, taste, and everything. I know which one I'll end up buying when she picks up a bottle, stares at it, and then hugs the bottle and says "this is one of my favorites!".

That's my personal wine database.
