X-Men cards
We have a bunch of old Xmen collectible cards from the old tv series and comic books. Does anyone know of a way we can get these appraised and know how rare they are and how much they are worth?

Well, first off let me say I'm not sure which card runs your referencing, so this isn't specific at all.
Three ways to go about pricing: Visit your comic shop, you'll probably be offered a dime. Check on ebay Buy a copy of Wizard, they usualy have prices for cards in them (as of a year or two ago, still, anyway), although it's usualy for the whole set of cards, with a few exceptions. These type of cards aren't really worth much in the market today, generaly speaking. Marvel Universe(?) cards made around 1988 or so I think sell ok, as do Marvel Masterpieces series 1 (around 92 I think). On your average run of collectible cards, though, generaly only the "special" cards, like foils or holograms, will fetch money. There was a collecting boom in the late 80s to mid 90s, which caused a devalutation to occur almost across the board in the area of collectible cards and comics.

Haha, i remember spending way to much money on the Comic Book Cards. Spiderman, X-men...i had em all. Probably have a bunch of em floating around here somehwere. They actually looked really awesome. No idea what they are worth now, but they sure were fun to collect as a kid.

Pick up a copy of Wizard magazine. They have the prices and what they are worth in the back half of the mag. I still have all of mine (hundreds of them, many entire sets.....Marvel Metal, Marvel Masterpiece, etc etc) but haven't kept up with what they are worth. I miss the days when getting those cards was the big deal of the week....

Unfortunately Wizard no longer prints the card price guide. They have fallen out of popularity and they really don't make as many sets as more. You could try looking at ebay but going to a card/comic shop and asking for their opinion would be the best bet.

Damn.. I have a bunch of these somewhere too. Mostly Marvel Universe series 2 & 3. I think I have a few series 1 laying around, but not very many at all. I also collected Marvel Masterpieces. I think I'm just shy of a complete set for that.
