Pulp Fiction! Samuel L. Jackson was great in that film.

I'd say Pulp Fiction by far, but I've really liked all his stuff. I haven't seen Kill Bill yet though. I could go see it tonight, but my wife wants to see "Love Actually" so I guess we'll be watching that. (grumble grumble).
I don't know what it is about Pulp Fiction or From Dusk to Dawn, but it seems like I wind up watching them just about every time they come on HBO or another movie channel. I guess I should buy the DVDs. |

I have to say Reservoir Dogs. I saw that at a film festival before any hype got to it, and it just blew me away. I love it when you go and see a film which hasn't been hyped and you come out thinking bloody hell that was brilliant.

Pulp Fiction.. althought I have yet to see the second volume to Kill Bill... after I have seen the ENTIRE movie, not just half of it, things MAY change, but I think it'll be tough beating Pulp

Cant beat Pulp Fiction.
Jules: Whoa... whoa... whoa... stop right there. Eatin' a bitch out, and givin' a bitch a foot massage ain't even the same fuckin' thing. Vincent: Not the same thing, but it's the same ballpark. Jules: It ain't no fuckin' ballpark either. Look maybe your method of massage differs from mine, but touchin' a lady's feet, and stickin' your tongue in her holiest of holies, ain't the same fuckin ballpark, it ain't the same league, it ain't even the same fuckin' sport. Foot massages don't mean shit. Vincent: And you know what they call a... a... a Quarter Pounder with Cheese in Paris? Jules: They don't call it a Quarter Pounder with cheese? Vincent: No man, they got the metric system. They wouldn't know what the fuck a Quarter Pounder is. Jules: Then what do they call it? Vincent: They call it a "Royale" with cheese. Jules: A "Royale" with cheese! What do they call a Big Mac? Vincent: A Big Mac's a Big Mac, but they call it "le Big-Mac". Jules: "Le Big-Mac"! Ha ha ha ha! What do they call a Whopper? Vincent: I dunno, I didn't go into Burger King. Butch: You okay? Marsellus: Naw man. I'm pretty fuckin' far from okay! Butch: What now? Marsellus: What now? Well let me tell you what now. I'm gonna call a couple of pipe-hittin' niggers, who'll go to work on homes here with a pair of pliers and a blow torch. Hear me talkin' hillbilly boy? I ain't through with you by a damn sight. I'm gonna get medieval on your ass. Vincent: That's a pretty fucking good milkshake. I don't know if it's worth five dollars but it's pretty fucking good. Esmeralda: What is your name? Butch: Butch. Esmeralda: What does it mean? Butch: I'm American, honey. Our names don't mean shit. Jimmie: Now let me ask you a question, Jules. When you drove in here, did you notice a sign out in front that said, "Dead nigger storage"? Jules: Jimmie... Jimmie: Answer the question! Did you see a sign out in front of my house that said "Dead nigger storage"? Jules: Naw man, I didn't. Jimmie: You know why you didn't see that sign? Jules: Why? Jimmie: 'Cause storin' dead niggers ain't my fuckin' business! |

I said Kill Bill for my vote.
I liked Four Rooms (I have a promotional front desk bell right next to me!) but thought it lacked verve. Pulp Fiction, R-Dogs, two of my favorite movies. Killing Zoe, Dusk Till Dawn I liked as well. Kill Bill tho...for me, Vol 1 stands on its own. Can't wait for 2.

Should we even count "From Dusk Till Dawn." Technically, Robert Rodriguez directed the movie. Quentin only co-wrote (if that, I heard the other guy Kurtman or something like that did the majority of the writing because Quentin was already working on Jackie Brown) and acted in the movie. Personally, I voted for Pulp Fiction. Not only his best movie but one of the finest movies of the 20th century. I could watch the final scene in the diner all day. Watching Sam Jackson perform, talking to Tim Roth is like watching Itzhak Perlman play his violin or Pablo Picasso paint. Its art. The fact that he was robbed of his Oscar for the performance was and is a travesty second only to Oscar that wasn't bestowed upon Peter O'Toole for Lawrence of Arabia. Sam deserved that Oscar.

He actually put "Taratino's Fourth Film" on Kill Bill, and that should mean something definitive to all those in question.
Reservoir Dogs Pulp Fiction Jackie Brown Kill Bill: Vol. 1 As for me, Pulp Fiction is one of the best movies ever. It's a fuckin classic. Samuel L. Jackson was, is, and always will be the fuckin MAN. It's so incredibly written and directed, and it lives to infinity. I can't watch it enough. Great thread. |

I voted for Reservoir Dogs. I really like the acting and dialogue in that one.
Actually I've seen all of his movies without having a clue what they were about. That has been some great experiences! The first of his movies I saw was Pulp Fiction. I was 15 years old when I saw it, and I had no idea what it was about. I was amazed, it was so cool. But I'll always have a thing for From Dusk Till Dawn. I went to see this movie alone, some afternoon. Only thing I had heard about it was: "it's cool". And that's what I thought it was, cool movie about some guys on the run, lots of shooting and cars. Then all hell broke loose. I had NO idea that THAT was going to happen! Suddenly vampires all over the place, sexy dancing, blood, crosses. And I was around 16 years old - the best experience of those years. Jackie Brown was alright, cool music, but not a movie I'll see again and again. And I can't wait to see Kill Bill vol. 2, there was something good about that movie - buried underneath all the overly done violence (like seeing that girls brain) |

Pulp Fiction.
It was a close call between that and Reservoir Dogs, since both films amply have what Tarantino excels at: great dialogue and plot. After seeing Kill Bill vol.1 I sure as hell hope that vol.2 will be good, because the first part was all fight scenes, no dialogue of worth. That's why I was pissed that he split the thing in two. Maybe seeing volumes 1 and 2 as a complete unit would make it better than Pulp Fiction, but that second part would have to be epic to do so. "I used the same fucking soap you did and when I was finished my towel didn't look like no goddamn Maxi Pad!" How could you NOT love that!

Im a big fan of Samurai flicks so Kill Bill was more of a campy comedy parody than an action flick in my book *even though I feel like a pedophile for my big crush on Go-Go*
Pulp Fiction is definately the best of the bunch. True Romance is one of my favorite movie's ever though just because it never went like you expected it to.

I'm gonna have to go with Reservoir Dogs on this one. I've always been a huge fan of Pulp Fiction, but I kinda grew sick of it with all the hype surrounding it. Reservoir Dogs is just quality Tarantino - its slick, yet gritty, and has a mind-boggling soundtrack.

Looks like this is a landslide victory for Pulp but I threw my vote up for Reservoir Dogs. Pulp Fiction is a close second for me but you just can't beat his first effort. Reservoir Dogs is such an amazing movie you just gotta love it.
