Assuming the weapon is concealed they can probably run a check and discover you have a CCW. On that basis your CCW permits them to suspect you might be "packing." So they will "kindly" ask for your gun ... after they've secured you in cuffs with a knee in your back and your face in the ground.
But if you don't have a CCW then they'll probably do nothing as long as they can't see it.
So take comfort that our legislation assures that only people who are
legally carrying firearms will be selectively punished.
(in case it isn't obvious I'm being sarcastic in my hyperbole - don't take it seriously - I'm just venting)
