Uninstalling Office XP
Just recently I ran into a problem where when I tried to run Microsoft Outlook, it would come up with a window with this prompt:
The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'PROPLUS.MSI' in the box below.
Ok, sounds easy enough, locate that file and I'll be on my merry way. Wrong. I find the file on the CD, and all it gives me is:
The file 'D:\PROPLUS.MSI' is not a valid installation package for the product Microsoft Office XP Professional with Frontpage. Try to find the installation package 'PROPLUS.MSI' in a folder from which you can install Microsoft Office XP Professional with Frontpage.
I don't even understand what that last paragraph means...
The worst problem is that I can't even uninstall office because I get the same error. I've downloaded a couple different copies of proplus.msi but had the same results, and any GIS or Microsoft KB search comes up with answers that don't worke or don't apply.
I'm just hoping someone here has had this problem before and might know the solution, I have a copy of 2003 I want to install but I want XP off here first and I just can't seem to get rid of it.

However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose vis-à-vis an introduction, and so it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V."
