Well I'd guess I used to throw about 25'. Another factor would be the knife though. A lot of the "throwing" knives you see are so light that they'll lose too much energy to be usefull at a long range. No science there, just opinion.
The Knife I used at that range was about 16 oz. and would go through the 3/4" plywood I used as a target. The handle would stop it from going all the way through. We called it "the armor piercer" I could hit a 12" circle pretty reliably, so that seems accurate to me. |

I've thrown 60 feet. Onto a moving target.
Pretty damn fun.

nanofever, when you throw knives, they are supposed to spin at a controlled rate that causes them to strike with the blade first into the target. They do no fly blade first throughout the entire path.
I can throw mind 30' and still hit a tree where I want to, using my hibbenknives. |

about 8' :P im not too much into throwing knives plus they were cheap ones and i didnt practice much. just something about being able to fire a pistol with more accuracy and doing a lot more damage than a knife. oh but i can prolly only go about a third of a mile to a half a mile accuratly. after that i could still prolly hit a man sized target 90% of the time but that isnt accurate enough for me to call accurate.
