Beretta ARX-160
Beretta recently introduced a new assault rifle. I first caught a glimpse of it during previews of SHOT-Show
![]() It's your typical next-gen assault rifle: - Quick Change Barrels - Folding Stock -Ambidextrous controls - Short Stroke Piston System Where this rifle really shines however, is it's ambidextrous ejection feature. With the push of a button, the rifle will eject spent casings on the opposite side, facilitating weak side shooting. From what I hear, it functions by having a dual-claw system, whereby one claw becomes the ejector, and another continues to be the extractor. Seems pretty innovative. As you see here, it looks like a 1 MOA rifle. [*ETA: Looks like I was wrong about the firing-hand controlled bolt release. Beretta did incorporate a trigger-finger controlled bolt release. Very nice.*] I hear some European Special Forces are using it? What do you guys think? Last edited by KirStang; 09-10-2010 at 05:29 PM.. |

Haha, in the video at 35 seconds, after he gets done unloading the entire magazine he looks at the camera with a look saying "yeah, I just did that and it felt great." 'Spect.
What do you think the cost of one of those bad boys is, KirStang? I don't really have much to add to the actual OP, my weapons knowledge is limited and I don't want to pull a Strange Famous.

I couldn't take my eyes off from 1:34 to 2:20. That was simply incredible. I wish we could see how far he was when he was shooting those. I'm lucky to be within the same quadrant as where I'm aiming, so to see him make a hole, and another one, and another one, and connect them all was insane..

![]() Word is that Beretta's not planning on releasing these to the U.S. civilian market. But, if they could have introduced them here at $1,600 a pop, they would make a killing--comparable ACRs/SCARs, which go for around $2,000 plus or minus a couple-hundred dollars. If they ever *did* introduce them, expect them to be around the $2k mark. That, plus all the hoops they'll have to jump through to import a 'non-sporting' rifle. No anti gun person here but I gotta ask ...
I can fap to that photo in the OP all day long but WHAT POSSIBLY is the application of that weapon besides arming 10-15 men and invading Togo? Isn't buying that for sporting reasons simply involve more in cleaning and purchasing ammo than actual enjoyment of use? EDIT: Would you really hunt dear with that? What? Do you have a grudge? Are you trying to send the dear a message? |

I am a lefty and when I bought my Colt I almost bought the left handed stag arms model, but didn't want to lose the muscle memory i had already established thru the military...
so i really like the ability to switch which side the spent casings are being ejected..
