I don't mind Glocks, but having no safety feels strange, and that little thing on the trigger bugs me to no end (makes my finger hurt after one or two mags).

Then again, I'm not a huge handgun fan; I'd prefer my Mossy 500 at those ranges, and an AR-15 or FN-FAL beyond that. If that won't do, it's probably not my business to engage anyhow and I'll just be movin' on.:)

sjb 12-07-2006 01:08 PM

Daily Carry: Glock 22 or 36
Long Range: Savage 10FP-LE2A

And various other weapons for other situations...

Stick 12-23-2006 07:11 AM

My fave at the moment is my Para-Ordnance P18, but I'll never give my 686 away.
It's like having two girls vying for your attention, yet you can't choose between the two because you love them both.

My favorite gun....Villar Perosa for being super ugly.

.460 Weatherby Magnum............. for rifles, 45 acp for pistols

1911 1911 1911. Made by a company that actually understands the dimensions of the design. That means the slidestop hole is the correct distance from the VIS and the breech face is 89 degrees 8 minutes. I challenge anyone to find that from the crap company's like S&W, Kimber, and Para Ordnance put out. Just because a gun runs doesn't mean it runs right.

Shadow. But if he doesn't eat 'em, my .38 super.

My staff. It's about 6'4" long, 1 1/2" diameter. Not sure what kind of wood it is, but it's dense as hell.

In second is an old, beat-to-hell Louisville Slugger that I got at a pawn shop for $4.

I'm curious as to why.
Isn't it just a copy of the Tanfoglio which is a copy of the CZ-75?

Well, I don't own any guns, or have much experience with them.
Although TBH, I like my folding knife for everyday use.
I bought it in a store in France. It's a Fox Invader 2.
Does anyone know if this is a good knife?

I also have a small Opinel, but it's more of a sentimental value kind of thing.

escrima sticks. they are small enough to conceal, they pass through metal detectors, they are silent, they don't jam, you don't need a permit for them, they will crush a skull or a knee cap. check them out in use at www.dogbrothers.com.

i'm not trying to be a smart ass here - if it does what you need it to do, it's a great knife. that simple. i had an $120 benchmade knife that is supposed to be the greatest knife in the world, it was the wrong tool for the job. i bought a $12 cheap ass knife, thing was perfect and worked better than the expensive name brand one. if you aren't saying "this sucks, i need a better knife" then the one you have is perfect.

My razor wit.

...

Or an Arsenal milled AK47 7.62x39 with American-sized furniture on it, 9 mags, and an EOTech.

Baraka_Guru 06-09-2007 09:51 PM

My choice would be:

Montblanc: Meisterstück Solitaire Solid Gold

Specs:
  • Piston fountain pen
  • 18 K gold nib with platinum inlay
  • Barrel and cap made of 18 k
  • White and yellow gold inlaid with mother-of-pearl star
  • 18 k. gold clip and rings

This bad ass is fully loaded. I'm drooling over all the ammunition--I mean ink I'd get for it.

Plan9 06-09-2007 09:55 PM

Baraka,

That's beautiful man. Made my day.

Montblancs with the "bird-turd" cap are overrated (Except for their limited editions).
I prefer my ST Dupont Olympio/Orpheo with a unique deep lacquer finish (you have to feel it to know why it's so "special") and gold appointments. It writes well and feels great to use. The nib is a work of art.

Not as well as I should, as evidenced by the eight stiches I had to have in my left index finger.

(It was actually a "finger in wrong place when drawing", rather than a flaw in form...)

longbough 06-10-2007 08:27 PM

ouch.

I remember my first Benchmade liner-locked knife. I practiced one-handed operations ... When practicing at speed I almost closed the ATS-34 blade forcefully on my finger... twice.

I just don't like the idea of a Croatian weapon in my hands.

debaser 06-21-2007 03:11 AM

They are all made in the US now, I believe. I still prefer a Glock though...

Maybe not *mass* destruction. I believe in quality over quantity. :D

Plan9 06-21-2007 04:51 PM

Mmmm... tongues aside... Glock 34 with M6 is a pretty good combo.

The mind first, then a 4.2 inch mortar and the Ogre to pack it for you.

Baraka_Guru 06-22-2007 03:11 PM

Okay. I think I've come up with my favourite weapon. I know I've already posted my witty answer of a pen, but that isn't a weapon in the literal sense of the word.

I've always been partial to the good ol' fashioned trebuchet.

If they don't kick ass, nothing does. Come on, it's a giant slingshot!

Pens can be awesome tools to hurt people, or also for self defense.

Plaid13 06-23-2007 01:29 PM

Im a sucker for the fancy and high tech things. So when it comes down to a good weapon something for home defense or just plain old outright post apocoliptic survival. I would have to say a nice Fancy high tech flint lock blunderbuss. A nice long one not just a pistol. With the widest muzzle i can get. Hopefully with some nice engraving on it just so it looks fancy.

Plan9 06-29-2007 11:20 AM

The katana is probably the best hand held blade weapon ever made.

A few scientists somewhere agree.

Kpax 06-30-2007 06:08 PM

I'm too afraid of pistols. Too complicated with all that "always one in the barrel" stuff. I need to know the gun inside-out. So, all I have is a double-action Airweight Smith and Wesson .38 revolver.

From Mil-Tac
TDP-1 (Tactical Defense Pen): This pen was designed with the military and law enforcement communities in mind. One end is pointed, which could be used as a very effective defense tool while the other end is blunt and could be used as a control device. The aircraft grade aluminum body with type 3 anodizing give this pen a very tough and reliable construction. Not only is this pen designed to be used as a defense tool and writing instrument but it also has a very attractive appearance and can also be used as a PDA stylus or pen. Allen Elishewitz who is better known as a world-class knifemaker and designer, has spent most of his life practicing martial arts and trained in several countries. This background enabled him to design the proper tactical defense pen for these extreme situations.
