Help tecoyah upgrade
I was just given an ASUS P4B533 motherboard and P4-1700 processor....(server upgrade). Set the thing up and No Usb action at all....I am trying to ungrade the BIOS to support the USB ports on the board but cant seem to figure it out.
Any help would be appreciated. |
go to asus.com and search for downloads for your motherboard. download the Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility and install.

Make sure the usb is enabled in the bios settings, some computers are disabled by default. edit: they also have your audio drivers for the on board sound card |

Upgrade your OS, an older version of Windows XP doesn't support USB
It was the problem when I couldn't get my onboard USB port working |

some of the windows updates address this as well the USB 2.0 drivers were released after service pack 1 It would seem that the motherboard maker SHOULD make the drivers available  I didn't see any on the asus site |
