Folks,

I am wondering if Active Directory has the ability to create a single share name for users and yet pointing to different machines and folders in the background.

I sort of remember reading that but for the love of god, I can't recall the name of the service to search for the how-to's.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, it can do this. It separates the physical device from the logical device. Let me see if I can find instructions on how to do this.

What version of Windows Server are you running? Because, AD differs some between Win2k and Win2k3.

True. Sorry about it.
I have a Win Svr 2K3 and a Win 2K Srv (both are file servers)
I'm running AD in a Win 2K native mode domain.
both file servers are in the same site. So I was thinking of DFS stand-alone ??

Yep, DFS is the one.

You can either use the built-in help to view the documentation...
Disks & Data > Managing Files & Folders > DFS

...or view the online documentation from MS's web site...
