Computer No Boot... Again. Bah
Hm... New problem. I drove down to college last yesterday and when I arrived and set my computer up it didn't boot. All the lights go on, the motherboard's lights go on, then it starts booting and just storta stops.
On my mainboard I have diagnostic lights - System Condition - 4 3 2 1 System Startup - X X X X CPU Detected - X X X DRAM Detected - X X VGA Detected - X System Boot up - (No Lights) I get 3 lights, basically. I'm not quite sure what to do. I've checked that ev erything is plugged in correctly, I've reset the CMOS taken out the CMOS battery and put it back in, etc. I'm trying to get around pulling out the CPU and then reseating it, so is there anything else I should try before I dismantle my computer? Thanks in advance. P.S. - This is my computer: AMD Athlon 3500+ 4 512 DDRAM DFI Nf4 SLI-DR |
Reseat the RAM? If it's not advancing to "DRAM Detected - X X", then I'd guess the RAM is flaked.

Make sure nothing was loose. I drove to college and my video card came loose a bit and caused bootup problems. Just make sure everything is snug and try again.

I'll try that when I get home - I had to reseat the video card/RAM earlier. I'll pull all but one of the RAM out and then try it with each one to see if it's bad RAM. Hopefully that's the problem.
