Computer FUBAR
My friends laptop is FUBARed and I wanna know if anyone here can help him. I consider myself computer knowledgeable (I built my own) but this stumps me.
I reformatted it and after reformatting it took 5 minutes to boot up and then had the BSOD: "Stop: c000145 Application Error (0xc0000006)" I restarted it again, and then the BSOD came up again with "Stop: c000021a Fatal System Error with Windows Logon Process 0xc0000354" What the hell is going on here? |
Now we got a new errors message. An error message about checksum is now occurring.

Does it have an FDD? If so, run Memtestx86. I think you can get it on a CD though.

FDD?
I'll run Memtest on it though |
FDD=Floppy Disk Drive
I second the diagnoses of bad memory |
Places to try are below.

Those are your most valuable resources when dealing with MS issues, especially STOP errors. About the checksum error, I doubt that would be ram. I would be thinking more along the lines of CMOS/BIOS chip errors somehow if they're doing it just after turning the machine on. It could also be from MD5 checksums that all the packages on the cd have to verify upon install that they're the correct package.
