My laptop has Alzheimer’s
This is the freakiest thing I've ever seen. My computer is reverting back to the settings it had when it was new. It has forgotten my saved passwords. All the initial warnings are popping up. The little paperclip guy on my office programs are back. It is asking me to set up my email for the first time.
I have a ToshibaA15-S129 running XP Home. I have ran a full scan with Norton Antivirus, scanned with Ad-aware SE, defragged the disk. I don't know what's going on with it. Anyone ever seen anything like this? |
Sorry I don't have any solutions for you, I just wanted to say I loved your subject line. Made me laugh. I had a Toshiba laptop that decided to go insane one day. I think it was due to overheating, but totally unrelated to your problem it seems.

ROFL! Great topic title. Even better than my "Evil Laptop!" title :D
My friend had a problem that was similar ... ish... All of his settings and stuff were totally destroyed. That could be the case. Of course, it was a desktop, BUT also WinXP home.. Is this a slow progression or did it all happen at once? |
I think some of the registry got messed up.
Maybe try to revert to an earlier version of the registry. |
I think that your system state recovery has kicked in to the time shortly after you purchased it.
Sorry I don't have a solution for you right now. |
profile is currupted, it created a new profile. Don't know of a way of getting it back really, but look in documents and settings and see
